초등학생 대상 사고력 교육의 국내 연구동향 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 1994년부터 2013년까지 한국연구재단(KCI) 등재 및 등재후보 학술지에 게재된 초등학생 대상의 사고력 교육 관련 연구 동향을 파악하여 향후 관련 연구를 위한 발전과제를 탐색하는 것이다. 분석 논문 선정 원칙에 따라 총 147편의 논문이 선정되었고, 이를 연구목적, 연구주제, 연구대상, 교과, 사고력 유형, 연구방법 등 여섯 개의 분석준거와 그에 따른 하위 준거를 토대로 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구목적 측면에서 2002년 이후 이론적 및 실증적 연구가 증가추세였고, 특히 사고력 교육 방법론 적용 효과에 대한 연구가 가장 높은 비율을 나타냈다. 둘째, 연구주제 측면은 교수방법 및 수업모형 개발과 효과검증이 우위를 차지하고 있었다. 셋째, 연구대상 분석결과, 4학년부터 6학년까지 상급학년 대상의 연구가 거의 대부분을 차지하였다. 넷째, 사고력 교육 적용 교과에서는 과학, 수학 그리고 사회과에 대한 연구가 절반이상을 차지했다. 다섯째, 사고력 유형과 관련해서는 창의적 사고를 비롯한 여섯 개 분류 영역에서 비교적 고른 분포를 보였다. 여섯째, 연구방법으로는 양적연구와 문헌연구 중심의 편향된 결과가 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 기반으로, 이론적 연구 확대, 사고력 평가도구 개발, 연구대상 영역 확대, 사고력 적용 교과영역 다양화, 양적 및 질적연구의 균형 등 몇 가지 연구의 발전적 시사점을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze research trends in thinking education focusing on elementary school students and to suggest future tasks with relation to thinking education. Towards this end, 147 research articles related to thinking education published in Korea from 1994 to 2013 were analyzed according to the following criteria: research purpose, theme, research subject, curriculum subject, thinking category, and research methodology. The findings are as follows: First, in the aspect of research purpose, both theoretical and empirical studies were increased and in particular, the majority of the studies among them were about the methodologies for thinking education. Second, in terms of research themes, the studies on verification of effectiveness and development of instructional methodologies and teaching models ranked high among the articles. Third, the majority of research subjects were 4th to 6th graders. Fourth, the curriculum subjects applied frequently in studies on thinking education were science, mathematics, and social studies. Fifth, the active studies were implemented evenly in six thinking categories of this study, including creative, critical, logical, problem-solving and higher-order, content-specific, and other. Six, most of articles depended upon the quantitative research methodology and literature reviews. In this study, we suggested future research tasks in terms of thinking education, such as expansion of theoretical discussion, development of evaluation methods, a balance between quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and so forth.
