영문 초록

Purpose: This study examined the factors influencing the suicidal ideation of male wage earners in their 50s to provide basic data to develop a program to prevent suicide. Methods: The 2019 Korean Health Panel data surveyed from August to November 2019 were used. The participants were 517 people who responded to the question whether suicidal ideation. The data were analyzed using a chi-square, t-test, and binomial logistic regression using SPSS WIN 25.0 program. Results: Approximately 4.8% of male wage workers in their 50s had suicidal ideation. The factors influencing suicidal ideation in male wage workers in their 50s revealed that education level, depression, and subjective health status showed an increase in suicidal ideation by 5.64 times (CI=1.17-27.25, p=.031), 37.93 times (CI=11.10-129.59, p<.001), and 6.17 times (CI=1.60-23.75, p=.008) respectively. Conclusion: These results suggest considering the education level, depression, and subjective health status in order to develop a suicide prevention program for wage workers in their 50s.
