어린이와 소통하는 현대사 박물관 전시의 내용 구성 방안

국문 초록

본 고는 현대사를 표현한 박물관에서 어린이의 접근성, 수용성, 상호작용성을 높일 수 있는 전시 개발의 큰 방향을 전시 내용 선정 및 구성의 측면에서 제시했다. 본 고에서는 주로 국외 현대사 박물관의 어린이 대상 전시를 검토하고 다음과 같은 제안을 했다. 어린이와 의미있는 소통을 위해서 박물관은 어린이의 과거에 대한 관심을 존중하는 내용, 어린이의 삶 자체가 역사라고 느낄 수 있는 내용과 전시물로 전시를 구성할 필요가 있다. 어린이가 과거인과 감정적으로 밀착하면서 동질감을 느낄 수 있게 전시를 내러티브 형식과 감정적 전시로 구성하는 방안을 고려할 수 있다. 다만 복수의 내러티브를 통해 역사를 논쟁적인 것으로 이해할 수 있게 하는 것이 중요하다. 또한 ‘상호작용적 전시’와 ‘전시와의 상호작용’을 통해 어린이가 역사하기와 유산화에 적극 참여할 수 있도록 전시 기획 단계부터 어린이에 대해 조사 연구하고 내용 및 전시물 선정에 반영할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to present a broad direction for the development of exhibitions that can increase children's accessibility, acceptability, and interactivity in museums of contempoary history in terms of selection and organization of exhibition content. For this purpose, in this article, the exhibitions for children in museums of contemporary history abroad are examined and the following suggestions are made. For meaningful communication with children, museums need to organize exhibitions with content that respects children's interest in the past, content that can feel that children's lives are history, and themes and exhibits that challenge children's prior knowledge. Museums should organize the exhibition in a narrative format and use emotive exhibition so that children can feel identify with while emotionally adhering to the people of the past. However, it is important to help childern understand history as controversial by presenting the past in multiple narratives. In addition, it is necessary to research about children from the exhibition planning stage and reflect the research results in the selection of content and exhibits so that children can actively participate in doing history and heritagization through ‘interactive exhibits’ and ‘interactions with exhibits.’
