국문 초록

인간의 역사, 문화와 함께 오늘날까지 변함없이 존재하고 있는 것이 상징이다. 인간 생활의 변화 속에서 상징이 주는 의미는 시대에 따라 재해석되고 확장된다. 이는 우리의 정신세계를 연결해 주는 다리 역할을 하고 있다. 모래놀이치료에서 모래상자에 담겨 있는 투사물은 각각의 고유한 이미지를 담고 있다. 우리는 특히 뱀을 보면 일반적으로 위협적인 동물이라고 생각하여 순간적으로 피하게 된다. 이러한 이미지로 인해 뱀이 내포하고 있는 상징성을 제대로 이해하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 뱀의 상징을 생물학적 특성과 함께 민담, 신화, 설화, 속담을 통해 그 의미를 살펴보았다. 뱀은 첫째 불사의 존재로서 신성성, 둘째 허물을 벗는 생물학적 특징으로 재생과 변환 및 치유, 셋째 선과 악, 성의 창조성의 지혜, 넷째 뱀이 새끼나 알을 많이 낳는 특성과 모양이 변하므로 달과 비유되는 여성성 및 다산과 풍요, 다섯째 용이 되기 위한 뱀의 보은, 마지막으로 인간을 유혹해서 죄를 짓게 하므로 욕망과 악의 상징성으로 나누었다. 이것을 바탕으로 모래놀이 치료과정에서 드러난 뱀의 상징성과 연결해보았다. 5세 남아는 자신의 무의식에서 뱀의 신성한 힘의 도움을 받아 자아를 강화하였다. 고등학교 2학년 여학생은 집을 나오면 뱀 같은 일이 일어난다. 이때의 뱀은 유혹하는 악의 이미지로 부정적 상징이 되었다. 그리고 54세 중년 여성은 자신의 내면에 있는 혐오스러운 존재들이 뱀으로 나타났다. 내담자는 보고 싶지 않은 부정적 이미지를 뱀을 통해 직면하며 정화의 눈물을 흘렸다. 내담자들은 모래상자에 투사된 뱀을 통해 자신 안에 있는 깊은 내면세계와 소통하고 있었고, 자신의 에너지 흐름에 따라 의미 있는 상징성을 보여주었다. 그 결과 뱀의 다양한 상징성과 상징적 의미 고찰이 되었다.

영문 초록

It is a symbol that still exists with human history and culture to this day. The meaning of symbols in the changes in human life is reinterpreted and expanded according to the times. It serves as a bridge to connect our mental world. In sand play therapy, the projections in the sand box contain unique images of each. In particular, when we see snakes, we generally think they are threatening animals and avoid them momentarily. Due to this image, it is very important to properly understand the symbolism of snakes. In present study, the meaning of snake symbols was examined through folktales, myths, tales, and proverbs along with biological characteristics. Snakes were divided into the first sacred character as the existence of immortality, the second regeneration, transformation and healing as a biological feature of taking off the cast skin of snake, the third wisdom of good, evil, and sexual creativity, fourth femininity, fertility and abundance that is compared to the moon as snakes because of the characteristics laying a lot of babies or eggs and change of shape, the fifth repayment of kindness to become a dragon, finally, the symbols of desire and evil because they tempt men to sin. Based on this, we linked it to the symbolism of snakes revealed in the sand play treatment process. The 5-year-old boy was strengthening his ego with the help of the sacred power of the snake in his unconscious. A high school sophomore girl says something like a snake happens when she leaves her home. The snake at this time became a negative symbol with the image of tempting evil. And a 54-year-old middle-aged woman has found the repulsive beings inside her as snakes. The client shed tears of purification, facing a negative image that she did not want to see through a snake. The clients were communicating with the deep inner world in themselves through snakes projected in sand boxes, and showed meaningful symbolism according to their energy flow. As a result, it became a review of the various symbolism and symbolic meanings of snakes.
