국문 초록

코로나-19는 교육과정, 수업 방법, 미래교육 등 교육 현장에 변화를 초래하며 포스트 코로나 시대의 교육을 새로이 정의하고 있다. 이에 따라 포스트 코로나 시대의 교육 연수 또한 변화가 요구되는 현 상황에서 본 연구는 델파이 방법을 활용하여 초등영어 전문가 집단으로부터 포스트 코로나 맥락의 초등영어 교사 연수 요구를 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 초등영어교육 관련 다년간의 현장 교수 경험이 있으며, 초등영어 교사 연구회 소속 교사 집단을 대상으로 설문조사 2회와 초점집단 인터뷰를 1회 실행하였고, 포스트 코로나 시대 초등영어교사 연수 요구를 연수 구성 내용 중심으로 알아보았다. 그 결과, 초등영어 전문가 교사 집단은 수업 역량 강화, 수업 형태 변화 대응, 학생 및 교사 역량 강화와 관련된 교사 연수의 기회와 내용이 확대되어야 함을 언급하였다. 특히 해당 전문가 집단은 코로나-19로 심화된 기초학력 저하 문제와 관련된 학생 지원 연수와 포스트 코로나 시대 미래교육의 관점에서 현장에서 수행되고 있는 수업 사례 관련 연수가 시급하다고 보았다. 나아가 이들은 다양한 주제의 원격연수 필요, 교사 연구회 활동의 직무연수 시수 인정, 영어 교사 연수 이수와 학교 영어교과 담당 연계 등 초등영어교사가 당면한 어려움과 관련된 현장의 개선 사항 또한 언급하였다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 포스트 코로나 시대 초등영어교사 교육 역량 신장을 위한 연수의 내용 및 방향을 구체적으로 도출하였고, 효과적인 연수 운영을 위해 다양한 제도적 지원이 뒷받침되어야 함을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many changes in the educational field, such as curriculum organization, teaching methods, and proposed competency for teachers. In this context, this study explored the needs of primary English teachers for teacher training programs related to the future competency of teachers in the post-COVID era. To this end, a group of primary English teachers who have many years of field experience in English education was surveyed by two online questionnaires and one focus group interview using the Delphi method. As a result, the group of primary teachers specializing in English education demanded an overall expansion of teacher training opportunities and contents related to more professional teaching, new class forms, and support to enhance students’ and teachers’ capacity for future education. In particular, the group saw that it is urgent to provide training for supporting students related to the problem of lowering academic achievement caused by COVID-19 and sharing the teaching cases being conducted from the perspective of future education. Furthermore, they mentioned a need for improvement related to the difficulties faced by primary English teachers, such as the need for online training in various topics, recognition of the number of hours for voluntary on-the-job training in teacher group activities, and so on forth. Based on this, the contents and direction of training for the improvement of future competency of primary school English teachers in the post-COVID era were suggested in detail, and it was discussed that various institutional support for more effective teacher training.
