초기 청소년기의 위기와 극복 역량에 관한 연구: 부모ㆍ교사 FGI를 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구는 초기 청소년을 자녀로 둔 부모들과 초기 청소년을 지도하는 교사들이 참여하여, 초기 청소년의 경험 전반 및 위기 경험과 극복에 대하여 크게 위기 현상 자체와 이러한 위기를 촉진하는 위험요인과 위기를 극복하기 위해 필요한 대상별 위기극복 역량을 도출하기 위한 목적으로 진행되었다. 이를 위하여 초기 청소년을 자녀로 둔 부모 6인과 교사 9인을 초점 면담하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 반복적 비교분석법(constant comparison method)으로 내용을 분석하였다. 연구 결과 초기 청소년의 관심사는 대인관계, 대중문화, 스마트폰 및 온라인 문화, 학업 및 진로, 기타 영역으로 도출되었다. 다음으로 이러한 관심사와 연결되는 위기현상은 학업, 진로, 대인관계, 아동-청소년 전환기적 변화, 기타로 구분되었다. 그리고 위기의 위험요인으로는 아동-청소년 전환기적 특성, 부모 요인, 교사 요인, 사회적 요인, 학교 체제인 것으로 나타났으며 마지막으로 위기 극복을 위한 역량은 심리적 역량, 관계적 역량, 개인적 취미의 영역으로 구분되었다. 이러한 결과에 따른 의의는 첫째, 초기 청소년의 관심사와 초기 청소년의 위기 현상의 맥락적 연결성, 둘째, ‘아동-청소년 전환기적 변화’와 특성에 대한 부모와 교사의 인식과 우려, 셋째, 초기 청소년기의 위기의 위험요인과 극복 역량에 모두 관여하는 부모와 교사의 역할과 비중에 대한 인식이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to derive crisis phenomena and crisis risk factors and crisis overcoming capacity regarding the overall experiences of early adolescents and crisis experiences and how to overcome them with the participation of parents of early adolescents and teachers who guide early adolescents. For the present study, data were collected through focused interviews with 6 parents of early adolescents and 10 teachers, and the data were analyzed using a constant comparison method. The study found that early adolescents’ interests include interpersonal relationships, popular culture, smartphone and online culture, studies and careers, and other areas. Crisis phenomena linked to these interests were divided into studies, career paths, interpersonal relationships, changes in the transition period between children and adolescents, and others. Also, it was found that the risk factors for the crisis were the characteristics of the child-adolescent transition period, parental factors, teacher factors, social factors, and the school system. Lastly, the competency for overcoming crisis was divided into the areas of psychological competency, relational capacity, and personal taste. The implications and limitations of this study were suggested based on the study results. The significance of these results is, first, the interest of early adolescents and the contextual connection of early adolescents’ crisis phenomena, second, parents and teachers’ perceptions and concerns about ‘child-adolescent transition’ and characteristics, and third, the role and weight of parents and teachers involved in both crisis risk factors and crisis overcoming capacity in early adolescence.
