전문적 도움추구의 선행요인에 대한 고찰 : 2006년~2021년 국내 학술지를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 개인들이 상담에 대해 가지고 있는 태도를 파악하고 이에 따른 전문적 도움추구에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 알아보았다. 2006년부터 2021년까지의 KCI 등재지와 석사, 박사 학위 논문을 대상으로 “전문적 도움추구”와 “상담에 대한 태도”, “상담의도”, “도움추구 행동”을 키워드로 하여 총 45편 수집하였고, 연구들이 다루는 선행요인들을 정리하고 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 전문적 도움추구의 선행요인은 첫째, 인구통계학적 특성, 둘째, 개인특성, 셋째, 사회문화적 특성과 넷째, 심리적 증상으로 나뉘었으며 같은 선행요인의 범주 안에 포함된다 하더라도 상이한 결과를 보이는 연구들이 있었다. 인구통계학적 요인이 전문적 도움추구에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과, 연구 대상의 특수성에 따라 상이한 결과를 보였다. 개인특성과 사회문화 요인, 심리적 증상 중 우울이 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과, 태도에 영향을 미치는 과정과 변인에 일관된 결과를 보이지 않음을 확인하였다. 따라서 같은 범주에 해당하는 연구들을 종합 및 정리하고 재차 검증해보는 후속연구가 필요할 것이다. 이러한 결과들을 토대로 추후 전문적 도움추구에 관한 연구의 방향 제시와 본 연구의 의의 및 한계점을 논하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate individuals’ attitudes towards counseling as well as the predisposing factors for seeking professional help. Methods: A total of 45 papers were collected with keywords such as “seeking professional help”, “attitude in counseling”, “intention for counseling”, and “help seeking behavior” from the journals registered in KCI(Korea Citation Index) and masters’ and doctoral theses from 2006 to 2021. Then the predisposing factors covered by them were summarized and analyzed. Results: while predisposing factors for seeking professional help being categorized. the four predisposing factors are demographic/personal/socio-cultural characteristics as well as psychological symptoms. There were studies that showed different results even if included in the same category of preceding factors. As a result of examining the effect of demographic factors on professional help pursuit, different results were shown according to the specificity of the study subject. In examining the effects of the rest of the predisposing factors, it was confirmed that there were no consistent results in the process and variables affecting attitudes. Therefore, future studies will be needed to synthesize, organize, and re-verify the studies falling under the same category. Conclusions: Based on these results, the direction of the future study on the pursuit of professional help and the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
