국문 초록

교양교육은 대학생들에게 다양한 분야에 관한 기초 지식을 쌓고 능력을 배양하여 대학생들의 시야가 넓어지도록 해주는 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 4차 산업혁명 시대를 맞이하여 새로운 플랫폼과 프로그램을 적용한 교육 방법에 관한 대학에서의 관심이 증대되고 있다. 메타버스는 4차 산업혁명의 주요 기술로서 코로나19의 영향으로 급부상한 대표적 사례이다. 대학에서 강의가 점차 대면 중심으로 전환되고 있는 시기이나, 미래 교육을 위하여 새로운 플랫폼을 활용한 교육 방안 연구가 확장되어야 할 필요가 있다. 이에 대학의 교양교육은 대학생들에게 사회 전반에 걸친 메타버스 활용성 증대와 관련된 시대적 패러다임의 변화에 따른 이해도 증진을 위해 노력할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 메타버스 활용 및 사례 연구에 관한 분석 결과를 토대로 향후 교양교육이 나아가야 할 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Liberal education plays an important role in expanding the perspective of college students by building basic knowledge and cultivating abilities in various fields. In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, interest in education methods applied with new platforms and programs is increasing in universities. Metaverse is a major technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution and is a representative example of rapid rise due to the influence of COVID-19. It is a time when lectures in universities are gradually shifting to face-to-face, but it is necessary to expand research on educational plans using a new platform for future education. Accordingly, liberal arts education at universities needs to make efforts to improve understanding according to changes in the paradigm of the times related to increasing the utilization of Metaverse across society. Therefore, this paper intends to present the direction in which liberal arts education should proceed in the future based on the analysis results on the use of Metaverse and case studies.
