중고등학생의 우울과 자살 생각의 관계에서 가족 결속력의 조절효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 중․고등학생의 우울과 자살 생각의 관계에서 가족 결속력의 조절 효과를 파악하여 청소년의 자살 생각 감소를 위한 개입 방안을 모색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 서울특별시를 포함한 전국 10개 시․도 지역에 거주하는 중․고등학생 500명을 대상으로 설문조사 하였고 그중 399명을 표본으로 하여 SPSS 25.0과 PROCESS macro 4.0을 활용하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 첫째, 우울은 자살 생각과 정적 상관관계를, 가족 결속력과는 부적 상관관계를 보였고, 자살 생각은 가족 결속력과 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 가족 결속력이 높은 집단은 우울이 증가함에 따른 자살 생각이 증가하는 기울기가 상대적으로 완만했지만, 가족 결속력이 낮은 집단은 우울 증가에 따른 자살 생각 증가 기울기가 더 가파르게 나타났다. 또한 우울이 자살 생각에 미치는 조건부 효과는 가족 결속력이 낮을 때와 평균일 때 및 높을 때의 세 조건에서 모두 유의미하였고, 가족 결속력이 높은 경우 우울이 증가함에 따른 자살 생각의 증가 정도를 감소시켰다. 따라서 가족 결속력은 우울과 자살 생각의 관계에서 완충 역할을 하였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 우울이 중․고등학생의 자살 생각에 미치는 영향을 감소시키기 위한 개입 방안으로 가족 결속력 향상을 위한 방안을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to find an intervention plan to reduce suicidal thoughts in adolescents by examining the moderating effect of family cohesion in the relationship between depression and suicidal thoughts in middle and high school students. For this purpose, 500 middle and high school students residing in 10 cities and provinces across the country including Seoul were surveyed, and 399 of them were sampled and analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and PROCESS macro 4.0. The main findings are that first, depression showed a positive correlation with suicidal ideation, a negative correlation with family cohesion, and suicidal ideation showed a negative correlation with family cohesion. Second, the group with high family ties showed a relatively gentle increase in suicidal ideation due to depression, whereas the group with low family ties showed a steeper increase in suicidal ideation due to depression. In addition, the conditional effect of depression on suicidal ideation was significant in all three conditions of low, average, and high family cohesion. Therefore, family cohesion played a buffering role in the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation. Based on these results, a method to improve family cohesion was suggested as an intervention method to reduce the effect of depression on suicidal thoughts in middle and high school students.
