국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 다문화청소년이 지각하는 진로장벽과 진로태도의 관계에서 사회적 위축과 성취동기가 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 탐색하여 다문화청소년들의 진로발달을 위한 자료로 활용하고자 한다. 연구를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원의 2018년도 다문화청소년 패널조사의 자료를 활용하여 총 1,197명(남학생 587명, 여학생 610명)을 분석하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 다문화청소년의 진로장벽은 사회적 위축과 유의미한 정적 상관을 보였고 성취동기 및 진로태도와는 부적 상관으로 나타났다. 다문화청소년이 지각하는 진로장벽이 높을수록 사회적으로 위축되고 성취동기와 진로태도는 낮았다. 둘째, 다문화청소년의 진로장벽과 진로태도의 관계에서 사회적 위축과 성취동기는 두 변인 간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 다문화청소년이 지각한 진로장벽은 진로태도에 직접적인 영향을 주고, 사회적 위축과 성취동기에 의한 간접효과도 동시에 가지고 있음을 확인하였다. 연구결과에 근거하여 다문화청소년의 진로태도를 높이기 위해서는 진로장벽을 낮출 수 있는 개입이 필요하고 학교구성원 전체가 다문화 수용성을 기를 수 있는 환경을 조성하여 사회적 위축을 감소하고 성취동기를 향상시킬 수 있는 프로그램을 활용할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of social withdrawal, achievement motivation on the career barriers and career attitude of multi-cultural adolescents. A total of 1,197 multi-cultural adolescents are surveyed in MAPS(Multi-cultural Adolescents Panel Study). The results of the study were as follows. First, career barriers was positively correlated with social withdrawal. Career barriers was negatively correlated with achievement motivation and career attitude. The variables that have a significant impact on the career attitude of multi-cultural adolescents are career barriers, achievement motivation and social withdrawal. Second, achievement motivation was mediated the relation between career barriers and career attitude. Social withdrawal was also mediated the relation between career barriers and career attitude. Finally, implications and limitations of the study with suggestions for the further research were discussed. In order to increase the career attitude of multi-cultural adolescents, it is necessary to lower career barriers. It is required to use programs that can reduce social withdrawal and improve achievement motivation by creating an environment in which all school members can develop multi-cultural acceptance.
