아동의 모래상자에 나타난 거북 상징 연구

국문 초록

거북은 세상의 근본 혹은 근간을 상징하고, 신성한 존재로서 육지와 바다를 오가는 특성으로 의식과 무의식의 세계를 연결하는 신의 매개자로서 인식되어왔다. 또한 장수와 수복(壽福)의 상징으로써 우주의 비밀을 품고 있는 지혜의 상징성도 있었다. 본 연구는 모래상자에 나오는 거북에 대해, 생물학적 특성, 설화 그리고 문화에 나타난 거북의 상징을 살펴보고 그 의미를 고찰하고자 한다. 또한 아동의 모래놀이 사례에 나타난 거북의 상징적 의미를 살펴보았다. 모래놀이 치료과정에서 사례에 나타난 거북은 아동의 내면을 튼튼하게 성장시키며, 내적인 근간을 견고하게 세워나가는 과정에서 상징적 측면을 시사하였다. 더불어 자기(Self)의 상징으로서 의식과 무의식의 통합을 이루며 새로운 생활이 시작되는 가능성을 보여주었다.

영문 초록

Turtles are fundamental to the world and symbolize the foundation, and have been recognized as divine mediators connecting the world of consciousness and unconsciousness with the characteristics of moving between land and sea as sacred beings. There was also symbolism of wisdom that contained the secret of the universe as a symbol of longevity and restoration. The purpose of this study is to examine the biological characteristics, narratives, and symbols of turtles in culture, and to examine their meaning. The symbolic meaning of turtles in child s sandplay case was examined. The symbolism of turtles shown in the case during the sandplay therapy process strongly developed the inner surface of the child and suggested the symbolic aspect that is the basis for the process of solidifying the inner foundation. In addition, it showed the possibility of starting a new life by integrating consciousness and unconsciousness as a symbol of self.
