유아기 자녀를 둔 부모의 시민의식과 유아교육공동체 역량과의 관계: 시민교육 중요도와 실천도의 이중매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아기 자녀를 둔 부모의 시민의식과 유아교육공동체 역량과의 관계에서 시민교육의 중요도와 실천도의 이중매개효과 여부를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 유아교육기관에 자녀를 보내는 부산 및 경상도에 거주하는 2-5세 유아의 부모 226명을 대상으로 4개의 척도로 구성된 설문지로 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0으로 기술통계, 및 상관분석과 Process macro 4.0을 활용한 이중매개효과 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 부모의 시민의식, 유아교육공동체 역량, 시민교육 중요도와 실천도 간에 모두 보통 이상의 높은 정적 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 부모의 시민의식은 시민교육 중요도와 실천도의 이중매개역할을 통해 유아교육공동체 역량에 영향을 미치며, 시민교육 실천도를 통한 단순 매개 경로의 효과가 시민교육 중요도를 포함한 이중매개경로의 효과보다 상대적으로 더 크게 나타났다. 시민교육 중요도의 단순 매개 경로는 유의하지 않았다. 유아교육공동체 구현에 대한 요구가 높은 시점에 부모역량 강화를 위해 부모 시민의식과 함께 가정에서 실천하는 유아 시민교육의 중요성을 확인함으로써, 부모교육과 유아교육공동체 구현에 필요한 시사점을 제공하였다는 데 연구의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigated whether the importance and performance of citizenship education for early childhood that parents with young children perceive had a mediating effect on the relationship between their citizenship? and educational community competence. Data were collected using a questionnaire measuring four variables from 226 parents of children aged 2-5 who live in Busan and Kyungsangdo whose children attended early childhood education institutions. To analyze the data, descriptive analysis and correlation analysis using SPSS 21.0, and double mediating effect analysis using Process macro 4.0 were performed. As a result of the study, first of all, there was a positive correlation between the citizenship of parents, educational community competence, importance and performance on democratic citizenship education. Next, the parent’s citizenship had a significant effect on educational community competence through importance and performance in democratic citizenship education for early childhood. There was a significant difference between the mediating effects of the two mediating variables, and the mediating effect of importance and performance on democratic citizenship education for early childhood was greater. Based on these results, at a time when there is a high demand for building an early childhood educational community, it is important to practice civic education for young children at home along with parental citizenship to strengthen parental competency. Through this, the implications necessary for parent education and building an early childhood educational community are discussed.
