국문 초록

본 연구는 동화를 활용한 대화읽기가 유아의 이야기이해력과 정서지능에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 G시에 위치한 W유치원의 만 5세 유아 4０명으로 실험집단은 동화를 활용한 대화읽기 활동을 실시하였으며, 비교집단은 동화를 읽고 자유토론활동을 실시하였다. 유아의 이야기 이해능력을 살펴보기 위하여 강은진, 박혜경, 정대련(2005)이 Morrow(1990)와 Bromley(1991)를 기초로 만든 도구를 수정·보완하여 사용하였으며, 정서지능은 김경희(1998)가 개발한 ‘교사용 정서지능 평가척도’를 사용하였다. 연구결과 동화를 활용한 대화읽기 활동이 자유토론활동을 실시한 집단보다 유아의 이야기이해력과 정서지능에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study examines dialogic reading using fairy tales and its effect on preschool children s story comprehension and emotional intelligence. This study analyzed were 40 children who attended kindergarten in G city. The experimental group participated in ‘dialogic reading using fairy tales’ while a comparison group participated in a ‘discussion activity using fairy tales’. This study employed the ‘Story Comprehension Test’ and ‘the Emotional Intelligence Test’ to collect data and a t-test was used to analyze the data. This study revealed significant differences between the experimental group and the comparison group in terms of ‘story comprehension’ and ‘emotional intelligence’. In conclusion, the results suggest that dialogic reading with fairy tales, which were developed in this study, are relatively effective for developing story comprehension and emotional intelligence.
