유아교육기관에서의 영양교육 실태 및 요구 조사

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육기관에서의 영양교육 실태 및 요구를 조사하여 영양교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 부산지역 유아교사 213명을 대상으로 유아교육기관에서의 영양교육 실태와 교사의 요구를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저, 영양교육 실태를 살펴본 결과, 대부분 유아 대상 영양교육을 실시하고 있었으며(84.8%), 기관에서 영양교육을 실시하지 않는 이유로는 현장에 적합한 유아영양교육 프로그램 부족(32.8%)이 가장 많았다. 학부모를 대상으로 영양교육을 실시하는 경우는 45.6%였으며, 실시 형태는 가정통신문을 통해서 실시하고 있었다(80.9%). 교사 대상 영양교육 경험 여부를 살펴본 결과, 교사의 영양교육 경험은 직무연수를 통해 이루어진 경우가 가장 많았고(36.4%), 영양교육을 받지 못한 이유로는 연수 기회의 부족이 88.9%로 나타났다. 다음으로, 영양교육에 대한 교사의 요구를 살펴본 결과, 97.2%가 유아 대상 영양교육이 필요하다고 응답하였고, 목적은 유아의 올바른 식습관 형성이 가장 많았고(50.5%), 교육내용으로는 올바른 식습관(1순위), 영양과 질병(2순위), 바른 식사 예절 및 태도(3순위)의 순으로 나타났다. 실시방법은 요리활동을 통한 교육(38.6%), 실시시간은 급․간식시간(36.5%)이 좋겠다는 응답이 가장 많았다. 또한 교사들은 전문가 연수를 받고 싶어 하였고(60.5%), 교사 연수에서 다루어야 할 내용으로는 유아 식습관 교육 내용 및 방법(46.4%)과 영양교육 전반에 관한 부분(34.8%)에 대부분 응답하였다.

영문 초록

This study examined the realities of nutrition education in early childhood education centers and researched the needs for teachers to provide the basic data for effective plans and programs for nutrition education in early childhood. To this end, two study issues were established as follows: “What are the realities of nutrition education in early childhood education centers?”, “What are the needs of teachers for early childhood nutrition education?” The subjects were 213 teachers in early childhood education centers in Busan. The results, according to the study issues, are as follows: In the realities of nutrition education, 69.0% of teachers responded that they performed nutrition education at the center. The reason teachers do not perform nutrition education is mostly due to the deficiency of proper nutrition programs in the field(32.8%). The reason teachers don t get nutrition education is the lack of training opportunities(88.9%). Next, regarding the teachers needs for nutrition education, 97.2% responded that nutrition education is necessary in early childhood. Regarding proper eating habits, research revealed that teachers need education on nutrition and disease, and righteous eating manners and attitudes. Teachers would most like to receive expert training(60.5%) related to methods for teaching children about good eating habits(46.4%) and general nutrition(34.8%). In conclusion, teachers have provided nutrition education through cooking activity and teachers recognize that nutrition education for children should be performed, but currently, there are not sufficient or appropriate programs. In addition, teachers want to be trained, but perceive few opportunities. These results suggest that nutrition education programs for children and training programs for teachers are necessary.
