‘독박육아’에 관한 담론분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 주요 일간지에서 보도한 신문 기사를 중심으로 ‘독박육아’가 대두된 배경과 그 실태 및 해결방안에 대한 사회적 담론을 살펴보고, 오늘날 육아 문제를 개선하기 위한 지원책과 육아의 방향성을 모색하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 6개의 일간지에서 온라인 신문 기사 총 221건을 분석하였다. ‘독박육아’가 대두된 배경은, 육아를 하는 엄마에게 ‘슈퍼맘’과 ‘프로맘’을 요구하는 사회적 기대, ‘행복한 지옥’이라 표현하는 육아의 가치 하락, ‘딱 이 정도까지’만 참여하는 남편의 태도 등으로 나타났다. 이는 ‘나쁜 엄마인가 봐요’라는 심리적 부담감, ‘오롯이 여성의 몫’으로 떠맡기는 관계적 고립감, ‘육아 때문에 퇴사’를 하게 되는 사회적 단절감이라는 실태로 드러났다. 아울러 ‘아빠육아’, ‘격대육아’, ‘느슨한 육아’, ‘공공육아’에 대한 인식과 제도의 변화로 해결하자는 담론들도 형성되었다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 우리 사회가 육아에 대해 공공의 책임의식을 가지고 나아가야 한다는 방향성, ‘독박육아’로 인한 엄마의 심리적인 부분과 아빠의 육아 감수성이 중요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the social discourse on the background, actual situation, and solution of ‘Alone Childrearing’, focusing on newspaper articles reported in major daily newspapers, and to find support measures and directions for improving today s childrearing. Therefore, a total of 221 online newspaper articles from 6 daily newspapers were analyzed. ‘Alone Childrearing’ emerged due to the social expectation that demand ‘super moms’ and ‘pro moms’ from mothers raising children, childrearing regarded as a ‘happy hell’, and the attitude of a husband who helps ‘only this much’. This was revealed as a psychological burden of ‘I am a bad mother’, a feeling of relational isolation that ‘only the responsibility of women’, and a feeling of social disconnection that leads to ‘leaving a job because of childcare’. In addition, discourses were also formed to solve problems by changing perceptions and systems such as ‘father childrearing’, ‘generational childrearing’, ‘loose childrearing’, and ‘public childrearing’. This study suggests the social responsibility for childrearing, the psychological stress of ‘Alone Childrearing’, and the importance of the father s childrearing sensitivity.
