예비유아교사의 일상대화 및 갈등언어 사용 습관 실태

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비유아교사들의 일상생활 언어습관을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구대상은 서울 및 경기지역에 소재한 3년제 전문대학 및 4년제 대학교 유아교육과에 재학 중인 예비유아교사 218명으로, 예비유아교사들의 일상생활 언어습관 실태 파악을 위해 한국교원단체총연합회 교육정책연구소(2013)에서 개발한 언어진단 도구를 사용하였다. 본 진단도구의 6개 영역은 동시 활용 또는 선택적 활용이 가능하고, 진단도구 내 개별 문항이나 예시는 학생들의 실제 언어생활 실태를 고려하여 수정하여 사용 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 총 6개 항목 중 특정 상황에서 이루어지는 언어생활에 대한 항목은 제외하고, 대학생들의 일상 언어를 직접적으로 반영하는 ‘일상대화’와 ‘갈등언어’ 항목을 선택적으로 활용하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예비유아교사들은 일상대화 안에서 말하기와 대화태도를 제외하고 자기표현, 언어표현, 듣기 측면에서 주의가 필요한 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 예비유아교사들은 일상생활 속에서 주로 상대방이 잘못이나 실수를 한 경우에 갈등언어를 사용하게 된다고 하였다. 본 연구는 언어생활습관 진단을 통해 현재 예비유아교사들의 언어습관 상태를 살펴보고, 추후 예비유아교사들의 바른 언어습관과 원만한 의사소통을 위한 지도의 필요성을 시사한 데에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This research aims to examine the actual conditions of ordinary and conflict language usage habits among preservice teachers of young children. The study subjects were 218 preservice teachers enrolled in colleges and universities in the Seoul and Gyeonggi areas. The researchers employed “the Language Habit Self-Assessment Tool” developed by the Korea Institute for Research Policy of the Korean Federation of Teachers’ Associations (2013). The tool, comprising six parts, can be used simultaneously or selectively. Individual questions in the tool can be modified and used to reflect the actual language life of students. In this study, the parts that can diagnose the usage habits of “ordinary languages” and “conflict languages” were selectively used. The research results are as follows. First, it was found that the preservice teachers’ habit of using ordinary language was generally at a level that required attention to aspects of self-expression, language expression, and listening, except for speaking and conversational attitudes in conversation. Second, it was found that preservice teachers mainly use conflict languages when one of their peers makes a mistake rather than in situations that result from their own mistakes. This study provided an opportunity to examine the current state of language habits through the diagnosis of ordinary and conflict languages among preservice teachers of young children. This suggests that in the future, there will be a need for guidance in using correct language habits and amicable communication among preservice teachers of young children.
