한센병 환자의 배우자로 살아온 고령 노인의 삶에 관한 미술기반 내러티브 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 한센인의 아내로 살아온 고령 노인의 삶의 경험을 탐구한 것이다. 연구참여자는 한센병 남편과 결혼 후 한센인 집단거주지에서 60년 이상 생활하고 있는 80대 여성 노인 2명이다. 연구 기간은 2020년 10월 3일부터 2021년 7월이다. 자료구성은 코로나 19의 영향으로 인터뷰 대화가 가능한 시간을 서로 조율하여 상사화의 경우는 총 7회, 민들레는 총 5회의 미술활동 및 인터뷰 대화를 하였다. 인터뷰 대화 내용을 전사한 축어록, 참여자의 그림, 현장 관찰노트 등을 자료로 활용하여 내러티브 탐구 절차에 따라 자료를 분석하였다. 탐구 과정에서 나타난 상사화의 삶의 이야기는 ‘삶이 섧은 부모님’, ‘품어야하는 사람들’, ‘배움과 창작의 기쁨’, ‘기도하는 삶’이며, 민들레의 삶의 이야기는 ‘도망 다니는 사람’, ‘순응하고 버텨내기’, ‘아낌없이 주는 나무’이다. 삶의 경험 이야기를 통해 구성된 경험의 의미는 ‘가난과 차별의 삶’, ‘배우자는 나의 의지처’, ‘기도하고 돕고자 하는 마음’이다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This research studied lives of the elderly female subjects who have spent their lives as the wives of leprotic husbands. The participants in the research were two women in their 80s who, for more than 60 years after getting married, have lived in a community for those suffering from leprosy. The research took place from October 3, 2020, to July 2021, and the data have been collected by after adjusting the available hours for interview due to COVID-19. As for the magic Lily (a subject name), a total of seven art therapy sessions and in-depth interviews were conducted, whereas the Dandelion (a subject name) underwent five art therapy sessions and in-depth interviews. The researchers analyzed the data in accordance with the narrative study process, using various materials such as the interview transcriptions, drawings by participants, field observation notes, and others. In the process of study, the life stories of the magic Lily were titled “The Parents with Sorrowful Lives,” “People to be Embraced,” “The Joy of Learning and Creation,” and “The Life of Prayer.” As for Dandelion’s life stories, these are “A Person on the Run,” “Accepting and Adjusting,” and “The Giving Tree.” The meaning of experiences drawn out from these life stories are “The Life of Poverty and Discrimination,” “The Spouse is my Refuge,” and “The Heart to Pray and Help.” Based on these results, the implications and limitations of this study are discussed.
