국문 초록

조선의 정체성이 천지공사(天地公事)에서 어떻게 나타나고 있는지에 관심을 갖고 조선 관련 공사의 기저(基底)와 양상 그리고 그 의미를 살펴본 것이다. 대순사상이 출현하던 19세기 말은 열강들의 실리추구로 인한 국제 관계의 혼란과 조선 왕조 내부의 부패로 조선 민중의 정체성에 새로운 변화를 일으킨 일대 격동기였다. 이러한 상황하에서 정체성의 혼돈은 조선만이 아니라 세계적인 공통 사항이었다. 상제의 천지공사로 변화된 양상은 조선에 대해 대외 국제 관계와 조선인의 정체성에도 영향을 주었다. 특히 조선은 후천 세계의 중심국이 된다는 것인데 이러한 상황은 대순사상이 출현하던 개화기와 미래 후천에서 조선의 위상을 재정립한 일이 된다. 천지공사는 신성 불 보살들이 세상 구원에 대한 한계 상황의 인식에서 청원에 의한 상제의 대순과 예지와 권능에 의해 이루어진 것이며, 기존 선천의 혼란을 해결하는 종교적 행적으로 후천이라는 세계의 정체성을 다시 세우는 일련의 작업이다. 천지공사의 기저가 되는 원리는 해원(解)과 조화(造化)인데 상제의 권능을 바탕으로 한 조화는 상생(相生)을 토대로 하였으며, 해원과 조화의 원리는 조선의 정체성을 정립하는데도 역시 작용하였다. 조선의 정체성을 세우는 공사는 동학의 실패를 딛고 동학에 대한 민중의 소망을 이룬다는 참동학 사상으로 표출되어 조선 상등국, 조선 득천하, 남조선의 세계구원 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 조선 정체성 공사는 조선 내부의 갈등과 모순을 해결하는 방향으로도 전개되었다. 조선 정체성 공사에 담긴 의미는 삼계(三界) 통합적(統合的) 사유이다. 이것은 당대 문제의 극복에 대한 민중의 신앙적 열망, 외세의 침탈, 후천 개벽의 시운의 도래라는 복합적 상황을 대변하고 있다.

영문 초록

The main point is that I am concerning about the identity of Chosun is how working in terms of CheonGii-Gongsa and look into the foundation, aspect and the meaning of the related Chosun-construction. The end of 19 century when Daesoon ideology represented is the time of violence giving the Chosun people s identity, which is due to the international relation of the powers pursuit of profits and the corruption of Chosun dynasty, new changes. Under these situation the chaos of identity was common in both Chosun and the world. The changed aspect from Sangje’s CheonGii-Gongsa made an effect on not only the Chosun’s foreign international relation but also the Chosun people s identity. Especially Chosun’s being a main nation of Hoochun is to rebuild the phase of Chosun in the age of civilization when Daesoon ideology represented and in coming Hoochun. CheonGii-Gongsa is formed of Daesoon’s foresee and authority based on petition in recognition of the limited relief situation of Sinsung, Bul, Bosal and is the work that the religious achievement solving existing Suncheon’s chaos rebuild the Hoochun’s identity. The principle of CheonGii-Gongsa’s foundation is Haewon, Sangsaeng, Chohoa and this principle worked in rebuilding of Chosun’s identity. The construction of building Chosun’s identity came out into the Cham-Donghag ideology which overcame the Donghag’s failure and accomplished the people s desire in terms of Donghag and came into Chosun Sangdeugug, Chosun Deucheonha and south-Chosun s world rescue. This construction of Chosun identity also expand into the course of solving Chosun dynasty s disagreement and contradiction. The meaning of Chosun identity s construction is the Samgye unified reason. This speaks for mixed situation of coming propitiousness of the times of people s religious desire as for overcome of those days problem, a foreign country s invasion and the Hoochun-Gaebyug.
