국문 초록

본 연구는 초기 성인기에 해당하는 대학생을 대상으로 성인애착과 대인관계 유능성의 관계에서 정서표현의 매개효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국의 대학생 286명을 대상으로 성인애착척도, 대인관계 유능성척도, 정서표현척도에 관해 수집된 자료를 분석에 활용하였다. 정서표현이 성인애착 및 대인관계 유능성과의 관계에서 매개하는지 살펴보기 위해 구조방정식을 통해 매개모형을 검증하였다. 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 애착불안이 대인관계 유능성으로 가는 직접 경로를 제외한 모든 경로들이 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 애착불안과 대인관계 유능성의 관계에서 정서표현이 완전매개하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 애착회피는 대인관계유능성에 직접 영향을 미치거나 정서표현을 매개로 간접 영향을 미쳤다. 이를 통해 성인애착(애착불안, 애착회피)과 대인관계 유능성의 관계에서 정서표현의 영향력을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 이러한 결과는 대학생들의 대인관계 유능성을 향상시키기 위한 개입 프로그램을 설계할 때 정서표현을 고려하고 검토해야 함을 보여주었다. 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 시사점과 연구의 제한점 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of emotional expression on the relationship between adult attachment and interpersonal competence for college students. A sample of 286 college students were asked to complete the Adult Attachment Scale, the Interpersonal Competence Scale, and the Emotional Expressivity Scale. Results are as follows: First, the examination of structural relations among the major variables showed that all of the paths were significant, except for the direct path from attachment anxiety to interpersonal competence. Second, it was found that emotional expression fully mediates the relationship between attachment anxiety and interpersonal competence. Third, attachment avoidance had direct effect on interpersonal competence, or it had indirect effect on interpersonal competence via the mediated path of emotional expression. These findings suggest that emotional expression plays an important role in the relationship between adult attachment and interpersonal competence. The limitations of the present study and the implications for further research are discussed.
