退溪 漢詩에 나타난 蘇軾 詩文의 활용 양상

국문 초록

退溪 李滉은 학문과 사상뿐 아니라 漢詩에서도 뛰어난 성취를 이루었다. 당대에는 蘇軾과 黃庭堅 중심의 宋詩風을 비판하고 晩唐風을 추숭하는 경향이 나타났는데 퇴계는 이를 강하게 비판하면서 소식의 시문을 적극적으로 활용하여 한시를 창작하였다. 퇴계는 ‘敬’에 대한 소식의 사상에는 동의하지 않았으나 그의 시문만큼은 높이 평가하였다. 이는 소식의 시에 차운한 작품이 14수에 이르고 그 시문을 용사하고 점화한 사례가 매우 많다는 데서 알 수 있다. 퇴계는 소식 시문의 해박함･정교함･참신함 등을 빌려 맥락에 맞게 활용하였다. 주장을 뒷받침하는 구체적인 논거로 소식의 시문을 활용하였을 뿐 아니라 개인적 감정을 표현한 작품에서도 소식의 영향이 확인된다. 특히 소식 시의 주요 특징인 해학적 표현을 활용한 것이 주목된다. 한편 퇴계의 한시는 韓愈와 蘇軾의 시문을 함께 활용하는 특징을 보이기도 한다. 조선 전기에 江西詩를 모범으로 삼는 海東江西詩派가 출현하고 이후 두보 중심의 성당 시를 존숭하는 복고의 경향이 나타났는데 두 경향의 공통점인 한유를 중시한 것이다. 따라서 퇴계 한시에 나타나는 소식 시문의 활용 양상은 조선 전기 송시풍과 당시풍의 변전 과정을 확인할 수 있는 좋은 사례라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

Toegye Yi Hwang[李滉] achieved outstanding success not only in academics and thoughts, but also in poetry. At that time, there was a tendency to criticize the poetry of Song[宋] dynasty centered on Sosik[蘇軾] and Hwang Jeong-gyeon[黃庭堅], and to revere the poetry of the late Dang[晩唐] dynasty. Toegye criticized this trend and frequently used the literary works of Sosik in his poetry. Toegye did not agree with the thought of Sosik, but appreciated his literary works. This can be seen from the fact that there are 14 chaunsi[次韻詩] of Toegye, and a lot of cases that used Sosik s literary works in his creation. Toegye was affected by the erudition, elaborateness, and novelty of Sosik and used his literary works according to the creative motive, situation, and purpose of his poems. In addition to using the literary works of Sosik as a concrete basis to support his argument, the influence of Sosik is also confirmed in Toegye s works expressing personal feelings such as friendship, nostalgia, and solitude. Particular attention must be paid to the use of the emotions of pity and humor, which are the main characteristics of Sosik s literature. Toegye s poems are characterized by using the poems of Sosik along with the poems of Hanyu[韓愈]. In the early Joseon Dynasty, the Haedonggangseosipa[海東江西詩派] appeared, and there was a retro tendency to honor the poetry of Seongdang[盛唐] centered on Dubo[杜甫]. Therefore, the aspects of using Sosik s literary works in the poetry of Toegye can be said to be a good example of verifying the historical change of Sino-Korean poetry in early Joseon dynasty.
