창조신화의 관점에서 본 분리불안을 지닌 여아의 모래놀이치료 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 자아의 강도가 약하여 모로부터 떨어지지 못하고 분리불안을 겪고 있는 초등학교 2학년 여아의 모래놀이치료 사례연구이다. 내담자의 심리적 과제는 자아의 강도를 강화시켜 모성분리를 이루어 내야 한다는 가설 하에 모래놀이치료를 진행하였다. 상담은 7개월간 주 1회 50분 진행하였다. 불안을 느끼고 있는 내담자에게 필요한 같은 장소, 같은 시간, 같은 상담실 등을 구조화하여 불안을 최소화하도록 하였다. 이에 내담자는 치료자와의 안정적인 모자일체성을 통하여 자신의 깊은 내면의 세계로의 여정을 시작하였다. 전체 여정을 살펴본 결과 내담자는 모래놀이치료를 통해 자아의 재탄생을 위한 혼돈－창조－재혼돈－재창조의 과정을 시지기(syzygy) 원형을 통한 창조신화를 펼친 것으로 보여 진다. 본 모래놀이치료는 내담자가 치료자를 신뢰할 수 있는 일관된 환경과 모자일체성 그리고 그것들이 바탕되어진 지지와 공감 속에서 자아의 재탄생이 성공적으로 이루어질 수 있었다. 또한 불안으로부터의 분리를 통해 일상으로의 원활한 복귀와 자존감의 향상으로 또래 관계의 개선이 확인될 수 있었던 사례라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study is a case study of sandplay therapy for a girl in the second grade of elementary school who is suffering from inseparable anxiety due to her weak self. Therefore, sandplay therapy was conducted under the assumption that the psychological task of the client concerns enhancing the ego’s strength, and that the growth from the unconscious to the conscious through separation from the mother is essential. The counseling was conducted for 50 minutes once a week for seven months. A sheltered space was provided to the client in order to minimize the anxiety that comes with changes by organizing the same place, time, and counseling room for the client who feels uneasy. Through the secure mother-child unity between the therapist and the client, the client began a journey to her deep inner world. The results of examining the whole journey show that the client went through the process of chaos, creation, re-chaos, and re-creation for rebirth of the ego through sandplay therapy. This case study confirms that through sandplay therapy, the client could achieve the rebirth of the ego successfully in a coherent environment where she could trust the therapist, by experiencing the mother-child unity and receiving the support and empathy on the basis of the aforementioned. This case also shows the client’s return to her daily life, separation from anxiety, and the improvement of peer relationship based on enhanced self-esteem.
