국문 초록

본 연구는 신체외모 스트레스와 타인에 대한 두려움으로 다른 사람들을 만나는 것을 기피하고 학업에 집중할 수 없는 여대생의 모래놀이치료 사례연구이다. 내담자의 심리적 과제는 진정한 자기 자신을 발견하고 독립적인 인격체로서 성장하는 것으로 보고 모래놀이치료를 적용하였다. 상담은 7개월간 주 1회(50분), 20회기가 진행되었다. 모래놀이치료를 하면서 치료자는 내담자에게 안전한 공간을 제공하여 내면의 불안과 두려움을 충분히 표현하도록 하였다. 모래놀이치료의 여정을 살펴본 결과, 내담자의 모래상자는 성년식의 일반적 과정인 분리, 전이, 통합에 상응하는 것으로 나타났다. 내담자는 모래놀이치료의 치유적 힘을 통해 내적인 혼란과 갈등을 해결하고 현실세계에 적응할 수 있게 되었다. 이 연구는 내적 혼란을 겪는 여대생이 심리적 측면에서의 성년식을 경험함으로써 새로운 인격으로 통합되고 자아정체성을 확립해나가는 과정을 제시한다.

영문 초록

This study presents a case of sandplay therapy on a female college student who escapes meeting other people and suffers academic problems with obesity, stress, and fear of others. The goal set for this therapy was for the client to find her true herself, increase her ego-identity and grow as an independent person. The counseling sessions took place 20 times, 50 minutes per week over a 7 month period. The client was provided with a safe and protected space to express her inner anxiety and fear during the sandplay therapy. The client’s sandplay process revealed the youth’s initiation process which corresponds with ancient people’s rites of passage through separation, transition and integration. The client was able to resolve her inner conflict and confusion and to adapt a real world through sandplay with its self-healing power. This case shows a female college student faced with an inner confusion; how she integrates herself and rebuilds her ego-identity by experiencing a psychological initiation.
