초등교사의 생존수영교육 부담요인 및 개선방안 탐색

국문 초록

이 연구는 생존수영교육이 초등교사의 수업부담에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고 문제점을 해결하는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 편의표본추출방법을 활용하여 B광역시교육청 초등교사 247명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구절차는 2019년 3월부터 5월까지 교육청 연수 및 배구대회에 연구자가 직접 참석하여 연구목적과 취지에 대해 충분히 설명한 후 연구참여에 동의한 교사를 대상으로 하였다. 측정도구는 질문지와 심층면담을 활용하였으며, 질문지는 자기평가기법으로 10분~15분 정도 소요되었다. 개방형질문지의 원자료는 컴퓨터에 입력하여 분석한 다음 유사한 주제로 범주화 하였다. 심층면담은 5명의 교사를 대상으로 약 20분 정도 생존수영교육의 문제점, 개선방안 등에 대해 자유롭게 질문하였으며, 핸드폰 녹음기 기능을 활용하였다. 자료 분석은 빈도분석과 카이제곱분석 그리고 녹음 내용을 반복해서 들으며 의미 있는 내용을 함축하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 대부분의 초등교사는 생존수영교육에 부담을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 교직경력, 수영교육 경험, 교사들의 수영 실력 정도에 따라 생존수영교육 운영에 부담을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적인 부담요인으로는 안전사고에 대한 불안감, 수영시설 및 환경부족, 수영교육을 위한 이동의 어려움, 교육과정 및 프로그램의 부족, 강사의 전문성 부족, 학생 참여 부족 그리고 행정 업무 과다 7개 요인으로 나타났다. 개선방향으로는 생존수영교육을 위한 시설의 확충 및 교사연수 강화, 교통수단의 지원, 지도자능력 확보 및 교사연수 강화, 교육과정 개편, 안전대책 마련, 행정적 지원 그리고 교육과정 제외 7가지 요인으로 나타났다. 생존수영교육의 활성화와 제도적 정착을 위해 교원양성대학의 책임 있는 교사교육과 국가적 지원 그리고 전문성 향상을 위한 교사들의 노력이 필요한 것으로 나타나, 교사의 역할이 무엇보다 중요한 요인임을 이해할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of survival swimming education on the burden of instruction of elementary school teachers and to solve the problems. The subjects of this study were 247 elementary school teachers from the B Metropolitan Office of Education using the convenient sampling method. The research procedure was targeted to teachers who agreed to participate in the research after fully explaining the purpose and purpose of the research by attending the training and volleyball competitions at the Office of Education from March to May 2019. The measurement tool used a questionnaire and in-depth interview, and the questionnaire took about 10 to 15 minutes with a self-evaluation technique, and the original data of the open-ended questionnaire was input into a computer, analyzed, and then categorized into similar subjects. For the in-depth interview, about 20 minutes of survival swimming education was freely asked for 5 teachers, and the mobile phone recorder function was used. The analysis of the data contained meaningful contents by repeatedly listening to the frequency analysis, chi-square analysis, and recorded contents, and the following conclusions were obtained. It was found that most elementary school teachers felt burdened by survival swimming education. Specific burden factors were anxiety about safety accidents, lack of swimming facilities and environment, difficulty in moving for swimming education, lack of curriculum and programs, lack of professionalism of instructors, lack of student participation, and excessive administrative work. The improvement direction was found to be 7 factors excluding expansion of facilities for survival swimming education and reinforcement of teacher training, support for transportation, securing leadership ability and strengthening teacher training, curriculum reorganization, provision of safety measures, administrative support and curriculum. It was found that teachers efforts to improve responsible teacher education, national support and professionalism at the Teacher Training University were needed to revitalize survival swimming education and institutional settlement, which was understood to be the most important factor.
