한지를 활용한 한국화 교육 사례연구 - 온라인 교육을 중심으로 -

국문 초록

한국화는 전통적인 재료와 기법을 바탕으로 현대회화를 이해할 수 있는 중요한 학문이지만 초등 교육현장에서는 낮은 비중으로 다루어지고 있으며, 그 실태와 사례연구도 미비한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 선행연구를 시작으로 한지를 이용하여 한국화 프로그램을 개발하고 학생에게 실증 적용하여 어떤 영향을 주는지 분석하고, 부차적으로 개발 한국화 프로그램이 온라인 교육에 대응될 수 있도록 체계화하여 온라인 교육의 방향성과 가능성을 살펴보는데 목적이 있다. 개발 프로그램의 효용성을 점검하기 위해 S 교대 영재교육원 미술영재 초등 5학년 15명을 대상으로 일주일에 1회, 4시간 프로그램을 2주에 걸쳐 8시간 진행하였다. 교육 프로그램 개발은 한국의 전통적 재료 한지와 기법을 이해하도록 제작되었고, 학생들이 그린 결과물과 프로그램 참여 전ㆍ후 학생 설문조사를 통해 분석하였다. 실증실험을 통하여 첫째, 교육 프로그램 시작 전 설문조사에서 대부분 학생들은 한지 및 한국화에 대해 알고 있었으나 경험이 부족하다는 결론이 도출되었다. 둘째, 한국화 재료 설명을 위한 한지 제작법과 종이의 차이점을 알려주기 위한 먹 번짐 실험을 진행하였고, 그 결과 학생들은 종이의 차이점을 이해했다. 셋째, 한국화 교육 프로그램에 대한 회기별 분석 결과, 도입단계에서 상대적으로 생소한 온라인 교육으로 소극적 태도가 관찰되었고 회기가 진행될수록 적극적 태도로 변화되었으며 흥미도 증가했다. 넷째, 교육 프로그램 종료 후, 설문조사는 프로그램 시작에 비해 전반적으로 이해도 향상을 볼 수 있었으며, 한국화 온라인 교육에 대한 높은 관심과 이해도 증가를 보였다. 다섯째, 온라인 미술교육은 전통적 대면 수업 대비 장단점이 공존하나 그 효용성을 확인할 수 있었고, 동시기 온라인 교육 진행 교사 20명 설문 결과 온라인 특성에 맞는 수업계획과 준비가 된다면 새로운 교육 장르로 발전 가능성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그 결과 한지를 이용한 한국화 교육 사례연구는 긍정적 효과를 주었음을 알 수 있었다. 아울러 온라인 수업에 대응되도록 체계화시킨 한국화 교육은 앞으로 다가올 새로운 패러다임 미술교육에서 발전 가능성도 확인시켜주었다.

영문 초록

Korean painting is an important academic realm that allows one to understand contemporary painting based on Korean traditional materials and methods but is not dealt sufficiently in elementary schools; researches on its status and case studies are also insufficient. Thus, the objectives of this study are to develop Korean painting programs using traditional paper Hanji starting with preceding researches, to analyze the effects of the programs by empirically applying them to students, and to secondarily examine the future direction and possibility of online class by systematizing and analyzing the developed Korean painting programs to respond to online class. To verify the benefits of the developed programs, the four-hour program was conducted once a week (total eight hours in two weeks) targeting total 15 artistically-gifted 5th graders of the Gifted Science Education Center, SNUE. The educational program was produced for helping their understanding of Korean traditional material Hanji and its techniques, and the analysis was performed on the outcomes drawn by students and their survey before/after participating in the program. In the conclusion of the empirical experiment, firstly, most of the students knew about Hanji and Korean painting in the survey before starting the educational program while they were lacking in experiences of them. Secondly, in the results of conducting an ink smear experiment to let them know the production method of Hanji and the differences of papers for explaining the materials of Korean painting, the students understood the differences of papers. Thirdly, in the results of analyzing the Korean painting educational program in each session, in the stage of introduction, the passive attitude was observed due to the online class which was relatively unfamiliar. However, as the session was more proceeded, their attitude was changed to be active, and the interest was also increased. Fourthly, in the survey after completing the educational program, the overall understanding was improved compared to the moment when starting the program. And they also showed highly-increased interest and understanding of Korean painting online class. Fifthly, despite some strengths and weaknesses compared to the traditional face-to-face class, this study verified the benefits of online art class. In the results of a survey targeting 20 teachers of online class in the same period, it could be developed into a new genre of education if there are lesson plan and preparation suitable for the characteristics of online class. In the results, the case study on Korean painting class using Hanji had positive effects. Moreover, it was confirmed that the Korean painting education systematized to respond to online class would have a possibility of development in the upcoming new paradigm art education in the future.
