국문 초록

본 연구는 농촌 지역에서 자생적으로 형성된 학교 밖 교육복지공동체의 실천적 의미를 이해하기 위해 진행되었다. 구체적으로 빈곤층 청소년들의 교육소외를 치유하고 교육적 성장을 도모하는 학교 밖 교육복지공동체 활동가들의 교육복지 실천원리를 발견하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 학교 밖 교육복지공동체인 C네트워크의 활동가 4명과 청소년 2명을 연구참여자로 선정하여 질적 연구를 진행하였다. 연구결과는 (1) 학교 밖 교육복지공동체 실천을 위한 전제조건, (2) 교육소외를 치유하는 수업의 원리, (3) 학교 밖 교육복지공동체 지속적 실천원리, 등 각각 주제별로 분석되었다. 첫째, 학교 밖 교육복지공동체 활동가들은 빈곤층 청소년들의 교육적 성장을 위한 전제조건으로 무조건적 환대와 보호를 중요시하였다. 둘째, 활동가들은 청소년(학생) 중심, 대화 중심, 경험과 과정 중심, 상호적 관계 중심의 수업 원리로 교육프로그램을 진행하여 빈곤층 청소년들과 교육적 관계를 구축하여 빈곤층 청소년들의 교육소외를 치유하고자 했다. 셋째, 인정의 원리와 성찰의 원리는 활동가들이 교육복지를 지속적으로 실천하는 원동력으로 작동하고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 학교 내외의 교육복지공동체를 구현하기 위한 실천적 함의에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This research was conducted in order to understand the practical meaning of the out-of-school educational welfare community that was formed voluntarily in a rural area. More specifically, we wanted to find out the principles of educational welfare practices for out-of-school education and welfare community activists who worked to address the issue of the educational exclusion of poor youths and to promote their educational growth. To this end, four activists and two youths from the out-of-school education and welfare community ‘C Network’ had been selected as participants in the qualitative case study research. The results of the research were analyzed on a subject-by-subject basis, including (1) the prerequisites for the practice of out-of-school education welfare community, (2) the principle of lessons to address education exclusion, and (3) the conditions for sustainability in out-of-school education welfare community practices. First, out-of-school education and welfare community activists valued unconditional hospitality and protection as a prerequisite for the educational growth of underprivileged youths. Second, the activists tried to build educational relationships with poor youths and address the educational exclusion of the poor youths by implementing educational programs based on the principles of student-centered, conversational, experiential, and relationship building activities. Third, the principles of recognition and self-reflection were working as a driving force for activists to continue to practice educational welfare. Based on these findings, we discuss the main points to be considered in order to support the practice of educational welfare in and out of the school.
