국문 초록

‘부자 되기’ 설화는 가난에서 벗어나 부유해지기를 원하는 이가 자신의 바람을 이루는 이야기로, ‘부자 되기’ 설화의 주인공이 부자가 되려는 본질적 이유는 소외와 차별에서 벗어나 스스로 인간다움의 가치를 인정받고자 해서다. 본고에서 다루는 ‘장구혈 설화’와 ‘가짜 업 설화’에서, 주인공은 속임수를 써서 부유한 친척의 재산을 얻음에도 불구하고 남다른 시각과 안목을 지닌 사람이라는 긍정적 평가를 받는다. 이는 주인공의 가난이 강고한 사회 구조적 문제와 결부되어 있으며, 기존의 윤리나 질서를 따르는 방법으로는 가난을 해소할 길이 없다는 상황에 대한 인식을 공유한 것이라 해석된다. ‘장구혈 설화’는 불평등을 문제로 삼아 부의 재분배를 요청하는 이야기다. 이 이야기는 ‘잘산다는 것’이 ‘소외되지 않고 서로 돌볼 수 있는 평등한 관계를 만드는 것’이고, 이는 ‘부(富)의 재분배’를 통해 가능하다는 것을 말해준다. ‘가짜 업 설화’는 생계를 이어가는 것이 중요한 윤리임을 강조하고 호혜의 가치 실현이 부의 창출에서 중요한 요소임을 역설한다. 가짜 업을 통해 이룬 ‘부(富)’는 이러한 호혜의 가치로 인해 그 사회적 의미를 획득할 수 있는 것이다. ‘부자 되기’ 이야기는 부의 재분배, 호혜성의 회복을 통해 공동체 구성원과의 관계를 회복하는 것을 본질적 목표로 삼는 이야기라 하겠다. ‘부자 되기’ 설화를 통해, 부(富)는 평등한 관계를 통해 만들어질 수 있으며, 부를 나누어주는 이와 나누어 받는 이들이 서로 배려하는 관계로 발전할 때 경제적 소외 문제는 해결될 수 있다는 점을 파악했다. 또한 부는 개인적 이해득실보다 관계적 호혜성에 기반할 때 의미를 지니며 사회적 가치를 확산해갈 수 있다는 것을 확인했다.

영문 초록

The Becoming Rich folktales are the stories which the person who wants to get out of poverty and become rich makes his wish. The fundamental reason the main character want to be rich is to be recognized for human value, away from alienation and discrimination. In the Janggu-Hyul and Fake Deity Eup’ tales, the main character is positively evaluated as a person with a special perspective and perspective, even though he gets the property of a wealthy relative by using a trick. This is interpreted as a sharing of the perception that poverty is associated with a strong social structural problem and that there is no way to solve poverty by following existing ethics or order. The tale of Janggu-Hyul〔장구혈〕 is the story that raises the issue of inequality and asks for redistribution of wealth. This story tells us that living rich is making an equal relationship that can be taken care of without being neglected , which is possible through redistribution of wealth . In the Fake Deity Eup〔업〕’ story, it emphasizes that continuing the livelihood is an important ethics and emphasizes that the realization of the value of reciprocity is an important factor in the creation of wealth. The ‘wealth’ achieved through fake deity Eup〔업〕 can acquire its social meaning due to the value of such reciprocity. The story of Becoming a Rich is the story that aims to restore the relationship with the members of the community through redistribution of wealth and restoration of reciprocity. I have found that through the story of Becoming Rich , wealth can be created through equal relationships, and economic alienation can be solved when the people who share wealth develop into a relationship that cares for each other. I also confirmed that wealth has meaning and can spread social value based on relational reciprocity rather than personal loss and gain.
