국문 초록

이 논문에서 나는 칸트에 대한 비개념주의적 독해가 초월론적 연역과 양립가능할 수 있음에 대해 논의한다. 비개념주의자들은 초월론적 연역이 어떻게 비개념주의와 양립되는지 보여야 하는데, 모든 직관이 지성의 행위에 의존함을 보이려는 초월론적 연역 장이 그들 독해에 주요 장애물로 여겨지기 때문이다. 개념주의자들의 독해에 대해서 나는 특히 통일성 및 공간 개념에 주목하여 초월론적 연역이 비개념주의적 독해를 허용할 여지가 있다고 주장한다. 여기서 내 논점은 비개념주의 자체를 옹호하는 것이라기보다는 개념주의자들이 비개념주의자가 틀렸음을 보이기 위해서는 더 정교한 설명을 필요로 한다는 점이다.

영문 초록

In this paper, I defend the thesis that a nonconceptualist reading of Kant is compatible with the transcendental deduction. First of all, I will introduce what the upshot of the nonconceptualist reading is by looking at McDowell’s strong version of the conceptualism. Many conceptualist readers think that even if McDowell is mistaken, nonconceptualists have to show how the transcendental deduction fits with their reading. This is because the deduction chapter seems to be a major obstacle to nonconceptualism in that it demonstrates that every intuition depends on the act of the understanding. Contrary to conceptualism’s critique, I will argue that, when closely reading key passages in the deduction chapter, the transcendental deduction can accommodate nonconceptualist readings. I will especially focus on the notion of unity and space. While I cannot fully defend nonconceptualist readings here, my discussion will show that conceptualists should offer something more in order to prove that nonconceptualism is wrong.
