세계시민의식 관점에서 「다문화가정 대상국가와의 교육교류사업」의 의미 고찰

국문 초록

본 연구는 교육교류사업에 참가한 국내 기참가 파견교사들의 귀국 후 후속활동 과정에서의 세계시민의식 구성요소를 근거이론을 통해 분석함으로서 파견교사의 사업 참가 경험이 후속활동으로 이어지는 과정에 세계시민의식이 어떤 방식으로 영향을 미치는지 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 선행 연구 분석, 자료 수집 및 분석, 2012-2019 국내 파견교사 대상 1차 후속활동 전수 조사, 일부 응답자 대상 2차 서면 인터뷰, 전문가 자문, 연구 참여자 의견 조사를 실시하였다. 근거이론의 개방 코딩 절차를 통해 144개의 후속활동 범주들을 도출하였고, 축 코딩 절차를 통해 37개의 하위범주로 연관시키면서 범주 간의 관계성을 파악하였으며, 선택 코딩의 절차를 통해 세계시민의식 구성요소 5가지 범주인 ‘지식과 이해’, ‘가치와 태도’, ‘기능’, ‘행동과 실천’, 그리고 ‘세계시민 정체성’을 중심범주로 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 교육교류사업에 참가한 파견교사들의 후속활동은 개인별 세계시민의식 흐름에 따라 다른 양상으로 나타났다. 또한 세계시민의식 형성에 영향을 미친 요인에 따라서도 후속활동 전개 양상이 달라짐을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 실제 사업 참가자들을 대상으로 개인의 활동 경험이 귀국 후 어떠한 후속활동을 통해 세계시민의식 함양이 이뤄졌는지 심층적으로 파악했다는 점에서 그 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to identify how the global citizenship affects the process that the participants’ experience of the「Asia-Pacific Teacher Exchange for Global Education」lead them into conducting the follow-up activities by analysing the elements of the global citizenship using the grounded theory. In pursuit of this aim, researchers analyzed the previous studies, collected data, conducted surveys of 2012-2019 Korean participants, interviewed the representative participants, consulted with experts, and received comments from the Korean teachers. As a result, 144 concepts from open coding, 37 subcategories from axial coding were developed. Through selective coding, five categories of global citizenship, ‘Knowledge and Understanding,’ ‘Value and Attitude,’ ‘Function,’ ‘Taking Action’ and Identity as Global Citizen were developed. This study result indicates that the participants’ follow-up activities show different aspects according to the flow of their perception on global citizenship. In addition, it was also confirmed that the aspects of their follow-up activities differ based on the factors that developed global citizenship of them. This study is of significance in that it is an in-depth empirical analysis of how the program participation affected the participants to make a ripple effect with global citizenship developed through follow-up activities.
