초등학교 내 어린이미술관 설치·운영 사례 연구

국문 초록

표현 활동이 중심이 되어 체험 및 감상 활동은 주로 지식교육의 형태로만 이루어지고 있는 초등학교 미술과 교육과정의 단점을 보완할 수 있는 생동감있는 미술교육의장을 마련하기 위한 목적으로 교내에 학교 미술관을 설치하였다. 특히 초등학생의 발달단계를 고려한 어린이미술관을 설치하여, 어린이 작품의 전시와 함께 체험식 전시방안을 적용해 운영하였다. 학교가 소속된 관내 구청에서 교육경비보조금을 지원받아미술관의 전시 시설과 체험 시설 및 학습 공간을 설치하고, 아동의 호기심을 자극하며학습동기를 유발하는 전시와 프로그램을 제공함으로써 아동의 욕구와 흥미에 부합하는 어린이미술관으로 운영하였다. 1년간 매달 다르게 구성된 전시 주제에 따라 학급별로 순회하여 전시에 참여하였는데, 기획전의 주제는 전 학년이 쉽게 참여할 수 있도록즐거운 생활과 미술과 교육과정을 분석하여 추출한 공통 소재를 바탕으로 구성하였다. 또한 전시와 더불어 상시 설치된 체험식 전시 공간을 전시와 연계 활용해 전시물과 관객이 상호작용하여 오감을 활용한 활동이 가능하도록 하였으며, 어린이 큐레이터를 활용한 도슨트 프로그램을 전개하고, 셀프 가이드를 제공하는 등 다양한 활동을 진행하였다. 1년간의 전시 프로그램을 마치며, 미술관 전시 프로그램 운영에 대한 학생 대상의 설문지와 학생, 교사, 학부모 대상의 면접을 실시한 결과 만족도가 매우 높았다. 본연구에서는 이러한 사례 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 초등학교 내 어린이 미술관 운영에관한 시사점을 제안하고자 한다.

영문 초록

The Fine Arts education courses in elementary school are centered on expression activities, and therefore experiencing/appreciation activities are offered only in the form of knowledge education. With the aim to furnish a dynamic art arena that can make up for such shortcomings, we established an art gallery within the campus. In particular, we established an art gallery specifically for children considering the developmental stage of elementary school students, and operated the gallery employing the method of experience-type exhibitions while displaying children s works. We set up exhibition facilities, experiencing facilities, and learning areas with the sponsorship of the relevant district office. Further, we designed the art gallery to be well-suited for the interests and desire of children by providing programs and exhibits that will stimulate children s curiosity and motivate them to learn. Each class rotated to participate in the exhibitions of the class’s works in accordance with the exhibit themes that changed on a monthly basis. The exhibition subjects were chosen from common materials that were identified from analyzing “Joyful Life” courses as well as the Fine Arts education curriculum, so that classes from every grade can easily participate.Furthermore, we jointly utilized the experience-type exhibit area established along with the exhibits so that the visitors can interact with the exhibits displayed and engage in activities using all 5 senses. In addition, we engaged in various other activities such as providing self-guides and implementing the Docent Program with the help of children serving as the curators. Upon the completion of the exhibition program for one year, we conducted surveys and interviews on the students, teachers, and parents regarding the management of art gallery exhibition program. The result showed a very high level of satisfaction. Based on the results of such case study, this study will make some suggestions regarding the management of a children s art gallery in an elementary school.
