산돌월인천강지곡 글꼴을 활용한 서예 수업 사례 연구

국문 초록

초등학교 서예교육은 주로 교과서의 서제를 임서하는 방식으로 진행되어 왔고,2007 개정 교육과정의 3, 4학년 미술 교과서에도 여전히 이 방식이 주로 적용되고 있다. 여기서 문제가 되는 것은 크게 두 가지인데 하나는 서체의 근거와 적합성이며 다른 하나는 학습자의 서제 선택 여부이다. 산돌월인천강지곡 글꼴을 활용한 서예 수업은 이 문제를 동시에 해결할 수 있는 방안이다. 월인천강지곡은 초기 한글 문헌으로근거가 분명하며, 컴퓨터 글꼴이 개발되어 학습자가 원하는 글자를 마음대로 편집해서출력할 수 있다. 학습자는 정평 있는 옛 글씨 체본으로 자신이 쓸 내용을 스스로 선택하면서 보다 능동적으로 학습할 수 있으며, 모두 같은 글씨를 쓰면서 서로 비교할 필요 없이 자기 작품에 집중할 수 있다. 또한 서제를 임서하는 것과는 달리 낙관은 자신의 방식으로 창작하면서 서예가 갖고 있는 예술성을 살릴 수 있다는 점에서 교육적인의미가 있다.

영문 초록

Copy-training with example texts has been the main pedagogical method of elementary school calligraphy instruction, and it has been maintained in the current 3rd and 4th grade textbooks revised in 2007. There are two problems inherent to copy-training, which are the legitimacy and pertinence of the typeface and the narrow range of the selected example texts due to the spatial limit of the textbook. This case study shows that a calligraphy instruction using the SANDOLL-Weorincheongangjigok typeface can solve both problems. As an early Korean literature, Weorincheongangjigok has a clear and legitimate source. Also, it has been developed into a computer font so the learner can type and print novel example texts instead of relying on the textbook. Composing with an acknowledged typeface, the learner is able to adopt an active stance towards learning and focus on developing individualized work because each learner s text is unique. Moreover, compared to copy-training example texts, composing one s own text confers additional educational value since one is able make use of the inherent artistic value of calligraphy in creating one s own signature.
