국문 초록

이 연구는 초등미술영재를 지도하고 있는 교사들이 초등미술영재교육에 대한 전반적인 인식을 알아보는 연구이다. 다시 말해 초등미술영재교육에 대한 설문분석을 통해교사들이 인식을 밝히고, 이를 통해 초등미술영재교육의 방향 설정에 시사점을 얻고자하였다. 이를 위해 서울시교육청 소속 초등미술영재교육원과 초등미술영재학급에서지도하고 있는 64명의 교사를 대상으로 배부하여 53부(82.8%)가 회수되었다. 설문지를 분석한 결과는 주요 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미술영재 선발 시 가장 고려해야할 점은 창의성으로 인식하고 있다. 둘째, 초등미술영재교육에 특화된 교육과정 개발이 필요하다. 셋째, 미술영재 지도교사를 자질을 높이기 위해 직무연수 기회가 확대되어야 한다. 넷째, 미술영재 교육의 활성화 위해 가장 시급한 것은 프로그램 개발과보급이다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the perceptions of teachers of elementary art classes for gifted students regarding elementary art education for gifted children. The study aimed to reveal these teachers’ perceptions through an analysis of survey results related to elementary art education for the gifted and subsequently use the analysis results to draw suggestions for establishing directions of elementary art education for the gifted. For this purpose, 64 teachers working at the Elementary Art Education Institute for the Gifted belonging to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, teaching elementary art classes for the gifted, were surveyed; 53 (82.8%) teachers responded to the survey. The analysis of the survey results led to the following significant conclusions and suggestions: First, teachers indicated that creativity is one of the primary considerations when identifying gifted children in art. Second, it is necessary to develop a specialized program for elementary art education for the gifted. Third, it is important to expand the opportunities of teachers’ study and training in order to enhance the ability of teachers responsible for art classes for the gifted. Finally, the development of a program for the gifted in art is urgently needed to activate art education for gifted students.
