국문 초록

놀이를 통한 조형 활동은 어린이의 본능적인 호기심과 탐구 욕구를 촉진하여 자유로운 사고와 창의적 표현, 내면적 정화(카타르시스), 신체적 발달 및 운동기능의 협응력 등의 교육적 가치를 지닌다. 이 연구는 놀이가 어린이 발달에서 중요한 반면, 오늘날 어린이들이 놀이의 기회 박탈, 또는 조건화된 놀이에 제한되어 있다는 문제의식에서 부터 출발하였다. 특히 지식 정보 사회에서 요구되는 창의융합형 인재를 육성하기 위해서는 지식 중심의 교육보다는 창의적인 잠재력을 계발하여 전인적 발달을 돕는 놀이의 충분한 기회가 어린이의 삶과 교육 안에서 제공되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 어린이의 무한한 상상력과 창의성을 유도하여 자아 표현을 가능하게 하는 조형 놀이를 교육적으로 의미 있게 구현하기 위한 교수․학습 원리로서 비고츠키의 ‘사회적 상호작용’과 반두라의 ‘모델 관찰 학습’에 대해 탐색하였다. 그 결과, 다음과 같은 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 교사들은 조형 놀이의 교육 요소인 다양한 대상과 재료에 대한 체험 및 어린이의 자아 표현 기회를 제공하도록 노력해야 한다. 둘째, 교사는 조형 활동 과정에서 언어 및 비언어적 상호작용을 촉진하고, 교사나 동료의 조형 활동에 대한 관찰의 기회를 제공해야 한다. 셋째, 조형 놀이에서 어린이의 예술적 표현과 전인적 발달에 영향을 미치는 교수 활동의 언어적, 비언어적 요인을 검증하고, 이를 촉진하는 미술 교사의 교수 특성에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

Artistic activity through play promotes children s instinctive curiosity and desire for inquiry, and thus has educational values such as free thinking, creative expression, refinement of emotions (catharsis), physical development, and coordination of exercise functions, etc. The study began with the awareness that play is important in child development, but that today’s children are deprived of play or limited to conditioned play. In particular, in order to cultivate creative convergent talents required in the knowledge and information society, sufficient opportunities for play to develop holistic potentials rather than knowledge-based education should be provided in children s life and education. The study explored Vygotskian approaches and Bandura s modeling viewing processes as teaching and learning principles to meaningfully realize the artistic play, which enables the self - expression by inducing infinite imagination and creativity of children. As a result, the following suggestions were drawn. First, teachers should make an effort to providing opportunities for children to experience self - expression and experimenting with various objects and materials, which are the key educational elements of artistic play. Second, it suggests that teachers should promote verbal and non - verbal interactions throughout the process of artistic activity and provide opportunities to observe art performance of teacher or peers. Third, future research is required to investigate verbal and non - verbal factors to impact on children’s artistic expression and holistic development in artistic play, and teaching characteristics of teachers to foster them.
