국문 초록

본 연구는 초등학교 방과 후 미술 감상수업에서 나타나는 미술교사와 아동의 대화를 Bakhtin의 대화주의 이론의 관점에서 분석하였다. Bakhtin은 인간의 언어행위에서 의미와 형식 위주의 분석을 넘어서서 맥락에 의한 의미를 주목하여 탈구조주의적 언어이론을 이끄는 대표적 이론가이며, 특히 그의 대화이론은 다성성과 카니발이라는 개념을 강조하면서 최근 교실대화 연구에서도 주요한 요소로 활용되고 있다. 초등학교에서 미술 감상수업은 단순히 시각적 경험만을 포함하는 것이 아니라 학습자의 창조적 발화를 수용하고 귀 기울이는 교사의 대화적 노력에 의해 영향을 받는다는 점에서 Bakhtin의 대화주의 이론은 시사점을 준다. 본 연구의 참여자는 초등학교 방과 후 미술교사와 초등학생(1학년 16명, 2학년 25명)이었으며, 총 6회기의 비참여 관찰을 통해서 수집한 자료를 질적으로 분석하였다. 초등학교 방과 후 미술 감상수업에서 드러난 학습자의 목소리는 교사에 의한 학습자의 발화 경청 여부와 의미생성의 수준에 따라 모노로그와 다성성 , 언어의 카니발 로 주제화 되었다. 특히 교사의 권위적인 단음조의 목소리에 반응하고 대응해 가는 학습자들의 카니발적인 발화가 미술시간의 역동성에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 끝으로 본 연구는 초등학교 미술감상수업에서 나타나는 교사와 아동의 대화의 의미에 대한 함의점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study explored leaners’ voices in art class in primary after school, based on Bakhtin’s theory of dialogue with emphasis on carnivalism and polyphony. Bakhtin’s dialogism is well known for its contribution to highlight on significance of context of meaning in linguistic activity of humans, rather than on structure and form of language in general. This study conducted an observational research on art appreciation activity with mantlepiece of art by focusing on the conversation between the teachers and students in order to find out the learners’ voices during the art class. This study observed 6 times of art classes with participants of 16 students from the first grade, 25 students from the second grade and one art teacher. The results of study found that there were very dynamic conversations between the teachers and students which are qualitatively categorized into linguistic like carnivalism and monologue like polyphony linguistic activities. This study discussed the significance of role of art teachers whose verbal skills should include carnival and polyphony which would vitalized the art classroom conversation. It is important that art class at primary school should give more attention to the Bakhtin dialogue theory which seems very useful for illuminating dynamic voices of learner.
