교과의 내재적 정당화

국문 초록

외재적 정당화는 교과의 외재적 목적을 제시하면서 교과의 가치를 적극적으로 드러내는 듯하지만, 그것은 교과 자체가 지니는 가치의 탐색을 외면한다는 점에서 치명적인 결함을 보여준다. 한편 내재적 정당화의 대표적 보기로 알려져 있는 선험적 정당화는, 한편으로는 경험적 정당화와 차별화되지 않는다는 점에서, 또 한편으로는 형이상학적 실재를 드러내지 못한다는 점에서 비판의 대상이 되어 왔다. 이러한 선험적 정당화의 한계는 메타프락시스적 관점에 의하여 해소될 수 있다. 메타프락시스적 관점에서는 교과교육은 실재와의 관련에서 이해되어야 한다는 것, 그리고 실재는 교과를 가르치고 배우는 사태에서 드러난다는 점이 강조된다. 그리하여 메타프락시스적 관점에 의한 정당화는, 교과의 가치는 교과를 가르치는 활동에 의하여 확립된다는 것을 핵심내용으로 삼게 된다.

영문 초록

The extrinsic justification of education focuses on revealing the value of school subjects by exhibiting extrinsic ends of them. In this viewpoint subjects are understood as means to achieve the ends. But extrinsic justification has a serious weakness in that it ignores investigating the nature and value of subjects. Meanwhile, transcendental justification as a model of intrinsic justification has been criticized from two opposite directions. The one is that transcendental justification is not distinguished obviously from empirical justification(extrinsic justification), and the other is that it is not interested in revealing metaphysical reality. The limit of transcendental justification can be dissolved by the viewpoint of metapraxis which has a meaning of practice of practice . The viewpoint of metapraxis emphasizes that education should be understood in relation to reality, and that reality obtains its appearance in a situation of teaching subjects. So the intrinsic justification from the viewpoint of metapraxis can be expressed as an idea that the value of school subjects can be established in the process of teaching and learning those subjects.
