국문 초록

교육인식론은 지식의 성격 문제와 지식의 획득과정 문제(또는 지식의 내면화 문제) 사이의 관계를 새롭게 규정하는 것으로서, 지식의 성격은 지식이 내면화되는 교육의 구체적 맥락 속에서 규명되어야 한다는 것을 핵심적 특징으로 한다. 이 점에서, 교육인식론은 그 출발점에서부터 지식이 내면화된 상태, 즉 심성함양을 전제하고 있다고 말할 수 있다. 교육이론의 성격에 관한 메타프락시스적 관점은 교육인식론에 전제되어 있는 교과와 심성함양의 관계를 분명히 드러내는 데에 결정적인 단서를 제공해 준다. 메타프락시스적 관점에 의하면, 교육이론은 교과를 통한 심성함양을 설명하면서 그와 동시에 바로 그 심성함양을 실천하는 것, 즉 ‘실천의 실천’을 특징으로 한다. 교육인식론은 이 메타프락시스적 관점에 의하여 비로소 교육이론으로서 완성된 모습을 갖추게 된다. 진정한 의미에 있어서의 교육인식론은 교과를 통한 심성함양을 설명하는 것을 목적으로 삼는 교육이론을 그 내용으로 한다.

영문 초록

In general terms, educational epistemology presents an approach to the two interrelated questions about knowledge, i.e., the question about the nature of knowledge and the question about the acquisition of knowledge(or the internalization of school subjects), in which the process of the internalization of school subjects is taken as the ground for reconsidering the nature of knowledge. By examining the process of the internalization of school subjects, Educational epistemology clearly shows that knowledge in its internalized state must be defined in terms of the cultivation of mind, or of the primordial mind . The idea of metapraxis which explicates the nature of educational theory plays a decisive role in explaining the relation between school subjects and primordial mind . According to it, the educational theory consists in the pursuits of practice of practice , in which the cultivation of mind through studying school subjects is justified in no other way than by the act of cultivating the mind itself. The educational epistemology, when interpreted in the light of the idea of metapraxis , can be assumed as a theory of education in its proper sense. The proper educational epistemology comprises a theory of education which aims at explaining how school subjects lead the students to the cultivation of mind.
