집단미술치료가 장애아동 어머니의 양육스트레스와 자아존중감에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 집단미술치료가 장애아동 어머니의 양육스트레스와 자아존중감에 미치는 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 서울시에 거주하는 18세 미만의 장애아동을 둔 어머니 10명으로, 실험집단과 통제집단에 각각 5명씩 배정되었다. 실험집단에는 주 1회 90분씩, 총 8회기의 집단미술치료를 실시한 반면 통제집단에는 아무런 처치도 하지 않았다. 집단미술치료의 실시 전과 실시 후에는 실험집단과 통제집단 모두에 한국판 부모 양육스트레스 검사(K-PSI-SF), 자아존중감 검사(SES)를 실시하였는데, 실험집단의 경우 양육스트레스, 자아존중감 점수에서 유의한 변화를 보였다. 통제집단의 경우 양육스트레스, 자아존중감 점수에서 유의한 변화를 보이지 않았다. 또한 실험집단의 경우 집단미술치료 실시 전과 실시 후에 빗속사람그림(DAPR) 검사를 추가적으로 실시하였는데, 대부분의 그림에서 스트레스의 상징인 비의 양은 줄어들었고 대처자원의 상징인 보호물의 크기는 커지는 변화를 나타냈다. 본 연구는 장애아동 어머니들이 심리․정서적 어려움을 해소하고 적응적 삶을 살 수 있도록 돕는 심리 치료적 개입의 한 방법으로써 미술치료의 효과성을 검증한 것에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study intended to investigate the effects of group art therapy on parenting stress and self-esteem among mothers of children with disabilities. This study was conducted with 10 mothers living in Seoul who had children with disabilities aged below 18. Five subjects each were assigned to the experimental group(EG) and the control group(CG). The EG was attended a total of eight sessions of group art therapy, one session a week for 90 minutes. Both groups were evaluated using the Korean version of the Parental Stress Index(K-PSI-SF) and the Self-Esteem Scale(SES) before and after the group art therapy. The results indicated that the EG showed a significant decrease in parenting stress scores and a significant increase in self-esteem scores. For the EG, the Draw-a-Person-in-the-Rain(DAPR) Test was conducted before and after the group art therapy intervention. In the DAPR Test after the group art therapy, a change had occurred that the amount of rain decreased and the size of the protective gear increased. This study is meaningful in that group art therapy can help mothers of children with disabilities in resolving psychological and emotional difficulties and living an adaptive life.
