기술교사의 교과교육학 지식(PCK) 인식 수준

국문 초록

이 연구는 기술교사와 기술교과에 대한 이해도를 높이기 위하여 기술교사의 배경변인별 교과교육학 지식(PCK)의 수준 차이를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위한 배경변인으로는 성별, 학력수준, 교직경력, 전공영역을 설정하였다. 이 연구는 기술교사를 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하여 370부가 자료 분석에 사용되었다. 측정도구로는 기술교과 교과교육학 지식(PCK)에 대한 7가지 하위 요인의 수준을 측정할 수 있는 45문항으로 구성된 자기보고식 설문지를 활용하였다. 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교과교육학 지식(PCK)의 하위 변인 모든 영역에서 남교사가 여교사에 비해 상대적으로 높은 지식을 지닌 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 최종학력에 따른 교과교육학 지식(PCK) 차이는 교수법, 학생, 평가, 교육과정, 환경 상황에 관한 지식의 경우 대학원을 졸업한 집단이 대학교를 졸업한 집단에 비해 상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 경력에 따른 교과교육학 지식(PCK) 지식 수준의 차이를 확인한 결과 교수법, 학생, 평가, 교육과정에 관한 지식의 경우 경력 5년 미만의 교사가 5년 이상의 교사에 비해 낮았다. 표현과 내용 지식의 경우 경력 5년에서 20년 미만의 교사가 5년 미만, 20년 이상 교사보다 높았다. 환경 상황에 관한 지식은 20년 미만의 교사에 비해 20년 이상의 교사가 더 낮은 지식을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 전공에 따른 기술 교과교육학 지식 차이를 분석한 결과, 평가와 교육과정에 관한 지식을 제외한 전 영역에서 대학교 학부에서 기술전공과 공업을 전공한 집단이 가정전공 혹은 기타전공을 한 그룹에 비해 상대적으로 높게 나타났다. 교사의 전문성을 나타낼 수 있는 교과교육학 지식(PCK)에 대한 양적 자료를 수집하여 이에 영향을 주는 배경변인을 파악하는 것은 기술교사의 특성을 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to make meaningful discourse on technology teachers and technology subjects from various perspectives on the teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge(PCK), which is an important element for professionalism and quality improvement of technology teachers. The research questions are as follows. Whether there is a difference in technology teachers’ PCK level according to the background variables (gender, highest education level, teaching career, and subspecialty), and its cause was investigated. The instrument consisting of 45 items from 7 domains were determined through the entire procedure. In order to answer these questions, this study surveyed 370 technology teachers. For the statistical treatment of data, a Window SPSS-24 are used and significance level of .05 was established prior to data treatment. Independent variables having a significant effect on technology teachers’PCK were gender, highest education level, teaching career, and subspecialty. The results of the quantitative investigation are as follows. First, it was analyzed that male teachers have relatively higher knowledge than female teachers in all areas. Second, in the case of knowledge on teaching methods, students, evaluation, curriculum, and environmental conditions, the teachers who graduated from graduate school is relatively higher than general teachers who graduated from university. Third, there were also statistical differences in PCK knowledge levels, even when experience was less than five years and more than 20 years high. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the difference in PCK according to the major, the group that majored in technology and engineering in university departments was relatively higher than the group that majored in home or other majors.
