대학강의에 대한 학기중간평가 실시 사례와 시사점

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 학기중간 강의평가를 통해 제기되는 의견들의 특징을 파악해 보는 한편 학기중간 및 학기말 강의평가 결과 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 서울 소재 A대학에서 실제로 행해진 학기중간 및 학기말 강의평가 자료를 이용하였다. A대학에서 학기중간에 시행되는 강의평가는 정성적인 의견을 묻는 주관식 문항으로 구성되어 있다는 점에서 학기말에 시행되는 강의평가와 차이가 있다. 학기중간 강의평가 결과를 분석하기 위해 텍스트 빈도분석을 이용하였으며, 텍스트 감성분석을 통해 학기중간 강의평가에서 제시된 어휘별로 긍정/부정의 의미를 부여하여 수치화하고 이를 리커트 척도 방식으로 측정한 학기말 강의평가 결과와 비교하였다. 연구결과: 분석결과 학기중간에 실시되는 강의평가로부터 학생들은 수업방법이나 수업내용, 평가방식 등에 대한 전반적인 만족도 및 수업의 난이도나 수업자료 등에 대한 의견을 많이 제시하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 강의평가를 통해 제시된 어휘별로 긍정/부정의 의미를 부여하여 수치화한 결과 단과대별로 학기중간 강의평가의 긍정률과 학기말 강의평가 점수 간에는 일관된 관계가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구는 기존에 거의 연구가 이루어지지 않았던 학기중간 강의평가 결과를 이용한 정량적인 분석을 시도하였다는 점에 의의가 있다. 본 연구를 통해 학기말 강의평가와는 구별되는 학기중간 강의평가 결과의 특징을 파악할 수 있었으며 또한 학기중간 및 학기말 강의평가 간에는 서로 일관성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the characteristics of the Mid-of-semester evaluation evaluation and analyze the relationship between the Mid-of-semester and End-of-semester evaluation results. Method: This study used actual data of mid and end of semester evaluation conducted at a university in Seoul. Text-frequency analysis was used to analyze the Mid-of-semester evaluation results, and Text-sensitive analysis was used to quantitatively compare the results of mid and end of semester evaluation. Results: This study found that students’ opinions appeared in the Mid-of-semester evaluation can be categorized by the methods and contents, evaluation method, difficulty levels and teaching materials of the classes. Further, it was found that there was quantitative consistency between the Mid-of-semester and End-of-semester evaluation results. Conclusion: This study carried out a quantitative analysis using the Mid-of-semester evaluation data, which has been rarely studied before. Through the analysis, this study can identify the characteristics of the Mid-of-semester evaluation results distinct from that of End-of-semester, and find a consistency between the mid and end of semester evaluations.
