대학생의 핵심역량과 학업성취도 관계성에 대한 분석연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 핵심역량을 분석하여 기존의 학업성취도 지표로 활용되어 온 평량평균과의 관계를 밝히는 것이었다. 대학생의 핵심역량 개념은 기업의 업무수행에서 중요한 직업기초능력과 연계하여 고등교육의 교육성과지표로 관심이 높아지고 있으나 아직 전통적 학업성취도와의 관계성에 대한 연구가 충분히 수행되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서 사용된 대학생 핵심역량 측정도구는 한국직업능력개발원에서 개발된 대학생 핵심역량 진단도구 (K-CESA)를 사용하였다. 핵심역량 측정도구는 자기관리 역량, 대인관계능력, 자원정보 및 기술의 활용능력, 글로벌역량, 의사소통역량, 그리고 종합적 사고역량의 6개 영역으로 구성되었으며 4년제 종합대학교 재학생 361명을 대상으로 조사되었다. 조사된 핵심역량 점수를 보면 글로벌역량 점수는 매우 낮았고 종합적 사고역량은 상대적으로 높은 수준으로 보고되었다. 또한 6개 핵심역량 요인점수들과 평량평균 사이의 유의미한 관계는 발견되지 않았다. 대학생들의 핵심역량 특성을 이해하기 위해 군집분석을 실시한 결과 네 가지 군집이 발견되었는데 ``인지적 기능중심 그룹``, ``전반적 우수 그룹``, ``자기관리 및 관계중심 그룹``, 그리고 ``전반적 저조 그룹``의 형태로 나타났다. 네 가지 군집에 따른 대학생들의 평량평균 차이는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 분석결과를 토대로 볼 때, 핵심역량은 평량평균과는 독립되는 측정구인으로 대학생들의 성취도를 측정하는 데 있어서 보다 타당한 결과를 보여 주었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between college students` essential skills and their GPA which has been utilized as academic achievement. In this study, essential skills were measured using K-CESA(Korea Collegiate Essential Skills Assessment) which is consisted of six different subareas such as ``self-management skill``, ``inter-personal relationship skill``, ``global skill``, ``communication skill``, ``utilization of information resources and technology skill`` and ``comprehensive thinking skill``. Six hundred one students participated in this study. The results of analyses showed that global skill and comprehensive thinking skill were found to be very low and relatively high respectively. The relationship between the six essential skill scores and GPA was not statistically significant. A cluster analysis was also conducted in order to understand characteristics of college students`` achievement. The results of cluster analysis revealed 4 different types showing ``cognitive function oriented group``, ``overall high-level skill group``, ``self-management and relationship oriented group``, and ``overall low-level skill group``, The difference of students`` GPA by the four group was not statistically significant. Given the results of analyses, the six essential skills are assessing a construct which is independent to GPA, and found to be more valid in terms of measuring college students`` achievement.
