수업컨설팅 사례로 본 대학 수업의 개선방향

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 대학 수업컨설팅 사례를 분석함으로써 대학수업 현상에 대한 이해를 돕고 대학수업 개선을 위한 시사점을 찾는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 이를 위하여 지역, 학생들 만족도, 자료의 통일성 등을 고려하여 16개의 사례를 선정하여 분석을 하였고 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 연구결과: 첫째, 양적 수업만족도 분석 결과에 따르면 두 집단 모두 교수 영역에 대한 만족도가 가장 높았으며 만족도 하 집단의 경우 수업방법이 낮은 만족도와 중요한 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 질적 수업만족도 분석 결과에 따르면 두 집단 간 공통점과 차이점들이 발견되었다. 공통점으로는 두 집단 모두 수업의 명료성, 풍부한 사례, 수업방법의 다양성, 실습, 적절한 진도 등이 수업에서 만족해한다는 반응이 있었으며 차이점으로는 만족도가 높은 집단은 잘하고 있는 수업에 좀 더 부가적인 수업전략의 개선 즉, 요약정리와 수준별 접근과 같은 개선요구가 있지만, 만족도가 낮은 집단의 경우 수업준비 철저, 수업 일관성 준수, 평가의 사전 공지와 같은 기초적인 수업전략을 준수해 달라고 요구하고 있었다. 둘째, 교수양식과 학습양식의 일치도를 분석한 결과 두 집단에서 비슷한 양상이 나타났으며 학습양식의 경우 협력형 학습양식이 주로 나타나 대학수업도 협력형 수업이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 수업구성 분석 결과에 따르면 만족도 상 집단의 경우 다양한 수업방법들이 사용되고 학생들에 대한 학습안내가 관찰되었으며 학생들과 교수의 활발한 상호작용이 많이 관찰됐지만, 만족도 하 집단의 경우 교수 중심의 설명식 수업이 많았으며 학생들과의 상호작용이나 학습안내 활동은 잘 관찰되지 않았다. 반면 두 집단 모두에서 공통적인 것들로 학생들의 이해도를 진단하는 활동의 부재, 학습속도에 맞지 않는 수업속도, 쉼 없는 수업으로 인한 학생들의 인지적 부하 발생 등이 있었다. 논의 및 결론: 따라서 본 연구에서는 수업방법, 공감수업, 평가방법, 수업분위기, 체계적인 개선활동 측면에서 개선점을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 대학수업의 현상을 좀 더 자세히 들여다보고 이해하는 데 도움이 될 수 있고 대학수업의 개선을 위해 어떤 노력이 필요한지 시사점을 제공하고 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to help the understanding of college instruction phenomena and to find implications for improving college instruction by analyzing instructional consultation cases. Method: For this, 16 instructional consulting cases were selected and analyzed in consideration of region, student satisfaction, and uniformity of data. Results: The results were as follows. First, according to the quantitative analysis of instruction satisfaction, the two groups showed the highest satisfaction in the professor area, and the group under the satisfaction showed that the teaching method was significantly related to the low satisfaction. According to the qualitative analysis of instruction, both groups responded that class clarity, rich examples, diversity in teaching methods, practice, and appropriate progress were satisfactory in the instruction. The difference was that the high-satisfaction group required improvement of additional instructional strategies on the other hand, low-satisfaction groups were required to observe basic teaching strategies. Second, as a result of analyzing the correspondence between the teaching style and the learning style, similar patterns appeared in the two groups. In the case of the learning style, the cooperative learning style appeared mainly, and the college class also needed the cooperative learning. Third, according to the result of class composition analysis, a variety of teaching methods were used in the group with high satisfaction, and the students and professors were actively interacted. In the low-satisfaction group, instruction-centered explanatory classes were mainly used, and interactions with students and learning guided activities were not observed. Conclusion: Based on these results, this study attempted to provide improvement plans in terms of instructional methods, empathic instruction, evaluation methods, classroom atmosphere, and systematic improvement activities.
