부모교육 프로그램에 관한 메타분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 2002년부터 2011년 8월까지 부모를 대상으로 한 부모교육 프로그램의 효과에 관한 논문을 대상으로 성과연구를 실시하여, 선행연구들의 상이한 연구결과를 분석하고 통합적인 결론을 내리는 데 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 검증하기 위하여 선행연구 결과와 자료를 종합적으로 정리하고 분석하는 방법인 메타분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 부모교육 프로그램의 전체평균효과크기는(ES=1.05)로 나타났다. 둘째, 프로그램 종속변인에 따른 효과크기를 구한 결과, 부모의 양육태도, 부모자녀 관계 및 의사소통, 자녀의 변화, 부모의 내적변화 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 프로그램유형에 따른 효과크기는 특정목적을 위한 부모교육 프로그램, 특정대상을 위한 부모교육 프로그램, 이론에 기초한 부모교육 프로그램, 공인된 부모교육 프로그램 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 처치특성에 따른 효과크기를 살펴보면 집단크기가 20～30명일 때, 총 시행 회기 수는 11～15회기 실시했을 때, 회기 당 시행시간은 150분일 때, 장애자녀의 부모일 때, 그리고 모가 부모교육에 참석했을 때, 자녀가 아동일 때 높은 효과가 나타났다. 이상의 결론은 대상과 목적에 적합한 부모교육 프로그램을 선택하고, 가장 큰 효과를 낼 수 있는 처치특성 변인을 고려하여 부모교육을 실시하는 것이 부모교육에 가장 중요한 핵심이라는 점을 말해준다. 본 연구는 앞으로 부모교육 프로그램을 구성하고 진행할 때 근거가 될 수 있는 자료로 제공될 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of parent education programs conducted from 2002 to 2011 in Korea for parents, and the dependency of the effect on each dependent variable or trait-treatment variable. As a method for the study, a meta-analysis was used for inducing a synthetic conclusion by converting results of many studies to identical measures. The results of the meta-analysis are summarized as follows. Firstly, the overall mean effect size of the parent education programs in this study turned out to be 1.05. The result shows that parent education programs were very effective. Secondly, by each dependent variable, the mean effect size on parenting style of the effects of parent education programs in this study was 1.56, the mean effect size on parent-children relationship and communication of that was 1.33, the mean effect size on change of children of that was 0.99, the mean effect size on internal change of parents of that was 0.73. Thirdly, by types of program, the mean effect size of parent education programs for specific purpose was 1.20, the mean effect size of that for specific object was 1.15, the mean effect size of that based on theory was 1.02, the mean effect size of that recognized officially was 0.96. Fourthly, the mean effect size of parent education program classified by trait-treatment variable(group size, total session, session duration, children types of participants, children ages of participants) is also calculated. The mean effect size is 1.41 for 20 ～ 30 children by group size, 1.28 for 11 ～ 15 times by total session, 1.14 for 150 minutes by session duration, 1.37 for parents with disabled children by children type of participants, 1.12 for mothers by types of participants, 1.19 for elementary students by children ages of participants. This study can enlarge applicability of parent education for parents and provide a basic information helping to design and conduct studies on effectiveness of parent education programs as well as to organize or operate effective parent education programs in the future. Finally, the limitations of the current study and the need for a further study are discussed.
