미래 영어교육에 대한 초등영어교사의 인식 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 예비 및 현직 초등영어 교사들이 4차 산업 혁명시대의 변화를 어느 정도 인지하고 준비하고 있으며 변화에 대한 태도는 어떠한지 또한 미래 영어교육을 어떻게 전망하고 있는지 파악해보고자 했다. 이러한 연구목적을 위해 34 명의 예비 영어 전공 교사와 215 명의 현직 초등 영어 교사를 대상으로 설문조사가 이루어졌으며 설문 조사의 결과는 t- 테스트, ANNOVA, 피어슨 상관 및 회귀 분석을 수행하여 분석되었다. 주요 결과로는 첫째, 응답자의 70 % 이상이 제 4 차 산업 혁명 및 관련 기술에 대해 잘 알고 있으며 관련 기술에 대한 관심도도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 영어교육에 적용할 수 있는 기술에 대한 관심도는 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 미래 영어 교육의 큰 특징은 교과통합, 지식 활용, 학습자 중심이며 관련 기술에 대한 교사의 인지 정도가 높을수록 교사들은 미래 영어 교육에 대하여 긍정적인 인식을 갖고 바라본다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 교사들이 자유롭게 최신기술을 활용하여 수업을 구상하도록 업무의 경감 및 교과 내용 선정의 자율성, 교과 간 통합을 위한 교육과정 개편등의 지원이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand how elementary English teachers are aware of the changes in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, their attitude toward the change and English education in the future. For these purposes, the survey was conducted to 34 pre-service English teachers and 215 elementary English teachers The results of the survey were analyzed by t-test, ANNOVA, Pearson correlation and regression analysis. The main results are as follows: First, more than 70% of respondents are well aware of the 4th Industrial Revolution and related technologies and have a high interest in related technologies. However, interest in technology applicable to English education was relatively low. It was found that the major characteristics of future English education is that it is focused on subject integration, knowledge utilization, learner-centeredness, and the higher the perception of teachers about the related technology, the more positive view that teachers have about future English education. In conclusion, teachers are ready to acknowledge and accept the change, but it seems that they are not willing to take concrete action. Therefore, it is necessary to support the autonomy of the work reduction, the autonomy of selecting contents, and the reorganization of the curriculum to integrate the curriculum so that the teachers freely use the latest technology to conceive the lesson.
