정신장애인, 가족, 재활스탭들의 직업재활에 대한 인식 연구

국문 초록

본 논문에서는 정신장애인 본인과 그 가족, 그리고 재활스탭들 사이의 정신장애인을 위한 직업재활서비스 인식수준을 조사하였다. 이들의 서비스 욕구 또한 정신장애인 직업재활서비스 개선과 전략개발을 위한 기초정보를 획득하기 위해 분석되었다. 조사에는 103명의 정신장애인, 정신장애인 가족구성원 42명, 그리고 정신재활스탭 52명 등 총 200명이 참여하였다. 연구자가 구조화한 설문지는 일반적 문항을 제외하고 19문항의 서비스인식척도, 10문항의 가족관계척도, 16문항의 직업능력인식척도로 모두 45문항의 세 가지 척도로 구성되었다. 중요한 연구결과는 다음과 같이 요약되었다. 첫째, 가족구성원 중 어머니가 정신장애인의 가장 적극적인 보호자인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 직업재활서비스는 매우 제한적으로 인식되었고 재활서비스 형태는 의료서비스 중심이었다. 셋째, 정신장애인의 낮은 고용율은 부정적인 사회적 태도와 사회적 낙인이 가장 큰 원인이었다. 넷째, 세 집단의 인식수준은 직업재활서비스 이용에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 다섯째, 가족과 함께 살고있는 정신장애인이 홀로 살고있는 정신장애인보다 더 높은 가족관계 인식을 가지고 있어 직업재활욕구를 가진 가족들의 지원이 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 나타낸다. 여섯째, 회귀분석에 의해, 직업재활인식에서 가장 중요한 설명변수는 정신장애인의 직업능력에 대한 인식수준으로 나타났다. 결론적으로, 정신장애인의 직업재활인식 수준은 나이, 정신장애인의 직업능력에 대한 올바른 인식, 가족과의 관계, 이전 직업경험, 재활서비스의 이용, 그리고 의료서비스 기간과 같은 몇 가지 중요한 요인들에 의해 영향을 받는다. 이 연구결과의 함의점에서 개별 내담자의 욕구와 능력에 맞는 직업재활서비스 질의 개선의 필요가 강하게 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness level of vocational rehabilitation services for persons with psychiatric disabilities among persons with psychiatric disabilities themselves, their family members, and the rehabilitation staff members. Service needs of this specific population group were also analyzed to obtain basic information for establishing a couple of policy measures and strategies. One hundred three persons with psychiatric disabilities, 42 families, and 52 rehabilitation staff members working in different geographic areas participated in this study, totalling 200 research participants. The questionnaire developed shares three basic scales, the awareness scale of 19 items, the family relationship scale of 12 items, and the rights for work scale of 16 items. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. ① Female parent seems to be the primary care-giver of persons with psychiatric disabilities; ② Vocational rehabilitation services are very limited and their psychiatric rehabilitation services are bounded for medical services; ③ Low employment rate among persons with psychiatric disabilities as the result of negative social attitude and the social stigma attached to disabled persons was observed; ④ The awareness level of three different response groups shows statistical differences on the utilization of vocational rehabilitation services; ⑤ There is a strong relationship between disabled persons who live with their extended family and disabled persons who live without their family members. It is indicative of the positive influence of supportive family members for vocational rehabilitation needs; ⑥ Based on the regression analysis results, the most important predict variable of vocational rehabilitation awareness is identified as the level of recognition for vocational potential of persons with psychiatric disabilities. In conclusions, the awareness level of vocational rehabilitation for persons with psychiatric disabilities is influenced by several important factors, such as age, appreciation of vocational potential of psychiatrically disabled, relationship with their family members, former occupational experience, utilization of rehabilitation services, and the length of health services. The implication of the results of this study is that there is a strong need to improve quality of vocational rehabilitation services corresponding to individual client s needs and abilities.
