국문 초록

본 연구는 체면이라는 문화심리적 특성이 한국 노인에게 심리적으로 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위해. 먼저 한국 노인이 관계에서의 갈등으로 인해 겪는 심리적 문제와 체면이 한국인에게 심리적으로 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 그리고 한국 노인에게 체면이 미치는 영향에 대한 선행 연구를 정리 및 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 관계주의 문화로 대변되는 한국 사회에서 체면은 한국인의 정서 및 행동, 의사 결정 등 일상 전반에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 유교적 가치관 아래 성장해 온 한국 노인에게 체면은 깊게 내재되어 있고, 의사결정, 신념 등의 개인 내적 측면뿐 아니라 가족 관계, 사회적 관계 등 외적 측면에도 영향을 미치고 있으며, 우울, 심리적 고통에까지 영향을 미치고 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 노인 상담에서 한국 노인을 이해하고, 심리 문제, 관계에서의 갈등을 이해하기 위해 체면은 고려되어야 할 중요한 요인임을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of cultural psychological characteristics of Chemyon on the elderly in Korea and to emphasize the importance of Chemyon. Methods: For this purpose, this study reviewed the psychological problems caused by conflicts in the relationship the elderly in Korea and psychological effects of Chemyon on Koreans. And prior studies on the effects of Chemyon on the Korean elderly were organized and analyzed. Results: The results showed that in Korean society represented by a relational culture, Chemyon affects Korean s daily lives such as emotions, behavior, and decision making. Especially, for the Korean elderly who have grown up under confucian values, Chemyon is strongly inherent. Chemyon affects not only the individual inner aspects of decision making, belief, etc. but also the external aspects of family relationships and social relationships, and even depression and psychological pain. Conclusions: Therefore, this study emphasized that Chemyon is an important factor to consider in counseling for korean elderly and to understand psychological issues and conflicts in relationships.
