음악치료 전문가로의 성장경험에 관한 질적연구

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 음악치료사가 전문가로 성장하기까지어떠한 경험을 하였으며 그 경험의 본질과 의미를 알아보고자 한 것이다. 대상은 동료추천방법을 통한 10명의 음악치료사이며 그들의 경험을 현상학적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 1) 음악치료사로 성장하기까지의 과정에서의 경험은 총 3개의 범주와 8개의 하위범주, 20개의 의미단위로 2) 성장의 본질과 의미에서는 2개의 하위범주와 9개의 의미단위가 도출되었다. 결과는 첫째, 각자의 독특한 필요에 의해 ‘음악치료에 입문’하였으며 특히 ‘전공이나 취미’와 ‘삶의 태도’가 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, ‘배움의 시간들’을 통해 ‘즐거움과 만족’이나 ‘어려움’, ‘도전과 극복’의 시간들을 경험했다. 셋째, 졸업 이후 ‘임상 과정’에서 ‘소중한 경험들’을 통해 ‘치료사로서, 그리고 개인적으로도 변화’의 시간을 갖게 되었다. ‘전문가로서의 성장’과 관련된 본질적인 필수 요소로서 ‘음악기술의 성장’과 ‘대상자에 대한 이해’, ‘치료적 철학의 확립’, ‘세션에서의 유연성’, ‘제도적인 도움’을 제안했다. 또한 ‘전문가로서의 삶’이란 ‘소진의 극복’, ‘자기분석’, ‘배움에 대한 추구’, ‘직업에 대한 자부심’, ‘소명의식’이 바탕이 되어야 한다고 하며, 이것이 음악치료 전문가로서의 삶의 본질이자 그 의미라고 제안했다.

영문 초록

The goal of this research is to examine what experiencesmusic therapists have as they become experts and to investigate the essence and the significance of those experiences. Ten recommended music therapy experts were interviewed about their experiences and growth related to music therapy. Applying the phenomenological research method, we distinguished three categories, eight subcategories, and 20 semantic units from 1) the experiences during the process of becoming a music therapist, and two subcategories and nine semantic units from 2) the essence and the significance of that process. The results are as follows: First, music therapists entered music therapy for unique individual motives. In particular, their major or hobby and attitude towards life exerted great influence on their entrance into the field. Second, they experienced joy and satisfaction, difficulty, and overcoming challenges through the hours of learning. Third, they underwent a time of change as a therapist and as an individual through valuable experiences during the clinical course after graduation. In addition to such experiences, music therapists also identified growth in music skills, understanding clients, establishment of therapeutic philosophy, flexibility during sessions, and receiving systematic help as essential requisites for growing into an expert. They also stated that life as a music therapy expert should be founded on overcoming exhaustion, individual analysis, pursuit of learning, pride in one s job, and a sense of calling to the vocation, and that these foundations comprise the essence and significance of life as a music therapy expert.
