외동아이 어머니의 미술치료 체험 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 외동아이 어머니의 미술치료 체험을 통한 경험의본질과 그 의미를 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 Manen의 해석학적 현상학 연구 방법론을 활용하였다. 본 연구 참여자들은 한 명의 자녀를 출산한 가임기 외동아이 어머니 5명이다. 자료 수집은 사전·사후 인터뷰를 포함해 개인별 미술치료를 주 1회, 2시간씩 총 12회기 진행하였다. 다양한 자료를 바탕으로 22개의 하위주제와 6가지의 본질적 주제가 도출되었다. 본질적 주제는 <처음이자 마지막 엄마가 되기로 결심하다>, <외동아이 엄마로 살아가다>, <혼자인 아이를 바라보다>, <나의 양육태도를 이해하다>, <미술치료가 어머니를 안아주다>, <성숙한 어머니가 되어가다>로 나타났다. 위 본질적 주제들을 통한 외동아이 어머니의 미술치료 체험의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외동아이 어머니들에게 미술치료는 아이와 분리되어 자신을 돌아보고 이해할 수 있는 시간을 가지게 해 주었다. 둘째, 미술치료는 3인 가족의 위태로운 균형이 관계의 재조명을 통해 기능적인 3인 체제로 형성·유지될 수 있게 도움을 주었다. 셋째, 미술치료를 통해 자기 유한성을 인정할 수 있는 새로운 시각을 가지게 되었다. 이와 같이 외동아이 어머니들은 미술치료 체험을 통해 그녀 자신들의 삶을 객관적으로 탐색해보는 계기를 가지게 되었고 성숙한 어머니가 되는 긍정적인 경험을 하게 되었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the nature andsignificance of experience of art therapy of the mother of an only child. For this purpose, van Manen s methodology of hermeneutical phenomenology was utilized. The Participants of this study were five mothers of childbearing age who gave birth to one child. The data collection was carried out from October, 2016 to April, 2017, and for each participant, art therapy was performed 12 sessions. 22 sub-themes and 6 essential themes were derived based on the data. Essential themes were as follows: , , , , , and . The conclusions of the art therapy experience were as follows: First, for the participants, art therapy provided time to reflect on and understand themselves, separated from the child. Second, art therapy helped a family composed of three members in a state of treacherous, unstable balance to form and maintain functional three-person system through re-examination of the relationship between the family members. Third, through art therapy, the participants obtained a new perspective that allows them to accept their self limitation. The participants had an opportunity to objectively explore their own life, and had a positive experience to become a mature mother.
