수학 사교육 실태조사 및 분석 - 제주도지역 고등학교 1,2학년을 중심으로 -

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 제주도 지역의 고등학교 1,2 학년 학생들의 수학 사교육의 실태를 조사하여 사교육을 받는 요인을 분석하고 이를 바탕으로 공교육과 사교육이 보충하고 개선해야 할 바를 생각해보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 제주도 지역의 고등학교 1,2학년 학생들(840명)을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 그 결과를 SPSS12.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 설문 조사 결과 조사 대상의 45.9%의 학생들이 수학에 흥미를 갖고 있었고 78%의 학생들이 수학교과목이 중요하다고 생각하고 있었다. 그리고 60.1%의 학생들이 학기 및 방학을 통하여 수학 사교육을 받고 있었다. 수학 사교육을 받는 이유에 대해서는 성적 향상을 위해서가 63.1%로 가장 큰 비율을 차지하였다. 또한 학년별 및 사교육 유무에 따른 수학교과목의 선호도 및 중요도, 성적향상정도, 향후 사교육 선택유무의 차이를 비교한 결과 고2로 갈수록, 그리고 사교육을 받고 있는 학생일수록 그 정도가 높게 나타났다. 현재 학생들은 흥미나 관심보다는 성적향상을 목적으로 공부를 하고 있고 이로 인해 사교육을 받고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 학생들이 사교육을 받으면서 경제적 부담과 시간부족으로 인한 스트레스를 받고 있었고, 또한 사교육이 성적향상에 큰 영향을 주지 않는다고 생각하고 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to research and analysis the actual conditions on private education for the mathematics. For this study, 840 students from the first and second grade high school in Jeju-do were taken part in the survey. And SPSS 12.0 was used to analysis the data. The result of the questionary are as follows; First, 45.9% of the students are interested in mathematics and 78% of the students think that the mathematics is important. Second, 60.1% of the students keep attending the private lessons for mathematics during ever semester or vacation. The main reason why they attend the private lessons for mathematics is to improve the grades in mathematics. Also, the second grade students in high school and the students who attend the private lessons are interested in mathematics and think the mathematics important more than the first grade students in high school and the students who do not attend the private lessons. Many of them study mathematics to improve the grades, and for this reason they keep attending the private lessons. Most of the students, however, feel overwhelmed by the burden of the cost of private education and the lack of their time for their private life. Besides they think that the private education doesn t have effect on improving their grades.
