한국과 일본의 노인돌봄종사자의 전문성 비교 연구

국문 초록

한국의 공식적인 노인돌봄제도는 2008년 시작되었고 또 요양보호사의 자격은 2010년부터 국가에서 인증하고 있지만, 요양보호사의 전문화를 위한 노력은 거의 없었다. 일본의 공식적인 제도는 1997년 발달했으며 또 초고령사회로 변모한 이후 케어를 요하는 노인인구의 증가로 인해 개호인력이 부족한 실정이지만, 한국보다 개호인력에 대한 전문성 확보 노력을 안정적으로 하고 있다. 한일 간의 전문성 차이는 자격취득 후 취업률이나 임금에서 드러났는데, 자격증 취득 후 노인 돌봄에 종사하는 비율이 일본이 한국보다 훨씬 더 높으며 또 근속연수와 자격 유무에 따라 임금을 더 많이 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국과 일본의 노인돌봄종사자의 전문성 및 직무스트레스 수준을 비교해보았는데, 전문 직업성에서 차이가 드러났다. 요양보호사가 개호복지사보다 사회적으로 중요한 공헌을 하고 있다는 인식이 더 두드러졌던 반면, 개호복지사가 요양보호사보다 자신의 업무와 관련한 전문가 조직 및 동료들의 의견을 고려한다는 점이 더 두드러졌다. 직업 전문성이 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향을 회귀분석으로 살펴본 결과, 양국 모두 5개의 직업 전문성 요인 중 직업적 소명감 요인만이 의의 있게 드러났다. 이러한 결과는 노인돌봄종사자의 전문성을 제고시킬 수 있는 방안 및 바람직한 노인 돌봄의 바람직한 방향을 제시하는 차원에서 논의되었다.

영문 초록

Formal geriatric care system in Korea was introduced in 2008 and certified carer system in 2010, but there have been very little trials of improving professionalism for the carer. The formal system in Japan was introduced in 1997 and there have been more trials of improving for the carer than Korea even though Japan has currently fallen short of the carers due to increasing the geriatric patients since the super-aged society. Differences in professionalism for the carer between Korea and Japan were found in employment rates and wage, showing much higher in Japan. The professionalism and job stress for the Korean carers were compared with those for the Japanese ones in this study, and there found differences in the professionalism. The Korean carers responded to take socially more important roles than the Japanese ones, whereas the Japanese ones responded to depend upon suggestions from the other carers more frequently when they worked than the Korean ones. Using regression analysis to model the relationship between job stress and 5 factors of the professionalism, the factor of sense of calling was the only predictor to the stress for both Korean and Japanese samples. The findings were discussed in the context of improving professionalism for the carer as well as of proposing more desirable ways to elder care.
