국문 초록

Giddens의 제3의 길은 세계화 시대에 평등, 약자 보호, 자율성으로서 자유, 책임 없는 자유 없다, 민주주의 없이 권위없다, 세계적 다원주의, 철학적 보수주의 등의 가치를 구현하기 위한 프로그램이다. 본 연구는 Giddens의 제3의 길 프로그램을 한국 교육정책에 적용할 가능성의 토대를 탐색하고자 이루어졌고, 그 결론은 다음과 같다. 한국에서 이념 갈등 역사의 종식 필요, 대화와 타협의 정신 필요, 탈이념적 생활정치의 강조, 교육 분권화에 따른 불협화음 발생, 소통의 부재 현상 발생, 학교 관리자의 권위주의 부활 가능, 교육정책에 신자유주의 원리의 지속적 적용, 국민 정서상 평등·분배·정의의 강조, 재정 지원적 복지정책의 폐해 해결 필요, 순수 보건·복지 예산의 교육을 통한 복지예산으로 전환 필요, 다문화가정의 급증, 국가 수준을 넘어 괸리·운영해야 할 문제들(환경문제, 세계적 교육기준)의 대두 등이 Giddens의 제3의 길 프로그램을 한국 교육정책에 적용 가능하게 하는 토대로 작용하고 있었다. 따라서 한국의 교육정책에 Giddens의 제3의 길 프로그램을 적용하면 교육정책에 새로운 방향을 제시해줄 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Giddens the third way is a program for implementing such values as equality, protection of the weak, freedom as autonomy, no right without responsibility, no authority without democracy, global pluralism, philosophical conservatism in the era of globalization. The purpose of this study is to examine the possibility of applying Giddens the third way program to Korean educational policy. The conclusion of the study is that Giddens the third way program can be applied to Korean educational policy on the basis of the following facts; the need of ending ideological conflict in Korea, the need of spirit of dialogue and reconciliation, the emphasis on politics free from ideology, a discord caused by decentralization of education, lack of communication, possibility of resurrection of the authoritarian attitude of school administrators, continuous application of neo-liberal principles to educational policy, emphasis on equality, distribution and justice, the need to solve the problems of financially supportive welfare policy, the need of conversion of health and welfare budget into welfare budget through education, increasing number of multi-cultural families, issues to be managed and controlled at international level (ex; issues of environment, standard of international education). Consequently, Applying Giddens the Third Way Program to Korean Educational Policy, We will be able to get the new direction in Korean educational policy.
