자아를 탄생시켜가는 유아의 모래 놀이치료 사례 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 불안증상 및 틱 장애, 공격성 등의 정서불안정 문제를 가진 5세 남아에게 적용한 모래놀이치료의 효과를 Kalff의 자아발달적 관점에서 살펴보았다. 접수면접 및 심리검사 결과를 토대로 총 11 회기의 모래놀이치료를 매주 실시하였으며, 모래상자에 표현된 놀이의 테마 분석을 통해 모래놀이치료 과정에 따른 심리적 변환 및 자아발달과정을 고찰하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 내담아동은 모래놀이를 통해 적극적으로 자신의 무의식을 의식화하면서 유아기의 중요한 과업이라고 할 수 있는 의식의 자아를 탄생시켰다. 내담아동은 비록 12번의 짧은 회기임에도 불구하고 자아탄생 전 단계인 동·식물 단계에서 의식의 분화가 나타나는 투쟁의 단계에 빠르게 도달한 사례라고 할 수 있다. 둘째 내담아동은 치료자와의‘모자일체성’을 공고히 하면서 자기 치유력을 활성화시켰다. 자기치유력을 활성화시키기 위해서는 치료자나 모래상자와 같은 보호의 역할이 필요한데, 이것은 단순한 보호의 기능이 아니라 무의식에 촌재하는 자기 치유력을 발휘할 수 있도록 돕는데 필요한 중요한 요소이다. 따라서 본 사례연구는 모래놀이치료가 유아의 자아탄생에 긍정적 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 안정적인 애착관계를 형성하는데 긍정적 영향을 미침으로써 불안증상 및 틱 장애, 공격성 등의 정서적 불안정성의 문제를 해결하는데 효과적임을 입중하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of sandplay therapy applied to 5 year old boys with anxiety, tic disorders, aggression, and emotional instability from the perspective of Kalff s self-development. Based on the results of the mother s interviews and children s SCT, HTP tests, 11 sessions of sandplay therapy were conducted weekly. Through the theme analysis of the play presented in the sand tray, psychological transformation and self-development process according to the progress of the sandplay therapy process were examined. The results of this study are as follows. First, the client gave birth to his conscious ego, which is an important task of infancy, by actively consciousness raised his unconsciousness through sandplay therapy. Although the child has a short session of 12 times, the child can quickly reach the stage of struggle in which consciousness differentiation occurs at the stage of the ego-birth. Second, the client solidified the mother-child unity with the therapist and activated self-healing power, thus forming secure attachment. To activate self-healing power, a protective role such as a therapist or a sand tray is needed. This is not a simple function of protection, but rather helps to exert self-healing power that exists in the unconscious. Therefore, this case study proved that sandplay therapy is effective in solving emotional instability problems such as anxiety symptoms, tic disorders, and aggressiveness by forming stable attachment as well as positively affecting infant self-birth.
